£6600 end price. Why am I storing mine in anticipation of restoring it?

Pretty sure I've spent this in total on purchase, storage and parts for mine.

Apart from escorts the less popular stuff that's advertised at silly prices doesn't sell at best it just changes hands between dealers.

All the cortina crayford s,mk3's bakkies Mk5 XR 6's  etc hold no nostalgic memories to 99% of UK enthusiast 's so are stuck in limbo, then you've MK3 GT 's that are sort after but most people are happy to just fit the grille while dealers are trying to ramp up the prices on.

There's going to be another early 90's crash on classic car prices/values with mainly the enthusiast suffering.

I’ve been looking at buying a Granada, Cortina or possibly Sierra since my birthday in February and prices are definitely falling. To the extent I keep putting off actually pulling the trigger on anything. Those South African things in Scotland are depreciating almost daily, there’s a rough Mk2 Granny they can’t sell currently only making £1500 on eBay that they’d have sold for £5k last year.

Of course I want an immaculate Signal Orange 3.0S Granada or a red Mk5 2.3GL S pack estate with Fishnet Recaros for £4.000- I might have a bit of a wait…

That Dolly was on FB a few weeks/months back at (I think) around £9,000 - I know I posted it someplace on AS but buggered if I can find it tonight.
Kind of leads into NorfolkNWeigh's piece - prices are certainly falling on most stuff (tat) that I peruse - sub £1500 shite near me is throwing up more cars week on week - not saying the quality is higher but the quantity is. Low cost, high liability is now Lower cost, higher liability

Sort of hope that's true. Seeing top end Mk4 Cortinas being advertised for £12,00-£15,000 is just insane. Later Mk3 Capri Lasers (no offence to any owners, but the least desirable of them all?) are also being advertised for daft money. For some reason 2.8 injections fluctuate between not quite so silly to stupid money.

Would there be any issues of legality with it being registered as a 1.0 litre, should it be stopped by police who give the car a going over?

I suppose it depends on what it is insured as. If the insurance company thought it was a one litre they would invalidate the insurance.

The weeds probably grew round that as it was being driven flat out.

'will be a classic in 2 years'

It'll be a Chinese lawnmower and some dangerous kids toys in 2 years.

Yes. The registered keeper of a vehicle is REQUIRED to notify DVLA of such changes to the vehicle. Not doing so is an offence so may result in prosecution.

It's 'done a 1.5DCi' and needs an injector, but potentially cheap van for someone. We had a few of these in a previous job and they were actually quite a pleasant little thing and never gave any trouble, pootling round at 20mph everywhere.
