Shut your eyes and imagine you're Jimmy Cauty/Bill Drummond. 1968 Galaxie LTD in green, California. i r dispoint the interior is black and quite fucked; an excellent excuse to recover it in matching greenness!

I had a summer job in North Carolina in 1999 and one of the local girls I was working with had one of these, in a fetching shade of metallic turquoise.  I thought it was fugly, but I did like the way it handed you the seatbelt electrically.  I preferred the slightly older Thunderbird owned by another colleague - better proportioned, and with a 302 V8 instead of the Cougar's V6 and a pimptastic red velour interior.

I loved that summer job - mainly because the boss let me drive her LWB Dodge Ram pickup around, as I was the only one of the summer staff who was used to driving on the right (apart from the two Russian lads, but she wouldn't let them drive because they were twats.)

Looks fine to me.

Odd bad point they have mentioned:

'Having your children that didn’t bother me'

Also, a real neat job wiring in that hands free kit!

Similar looks to one of Mustie's projects.

It must have seemed a good idea at the time.

Now, it just looks like a hearse.

I actually quite enjoyed driving the Swift I had.  I thought it went quite well for a 1-litre, although the ride was bone-shattering.  I am a sucker for a 3-pot engine mind.

I never even knew VM made a straight 6!

There is an XJ6  / VM6 somewhere in this thread, a year or two ago. I read somewhere that Jaguar tried it themselves before not making an XJ40 Diesel.

VM6 available in Lancashire.
