Original Autoshite....the first incarnation

I don't know if anyone has pointed this out before, but autoshite used to have some 'magazine' pages that pretty much defined the ethos of the forum. These pages are still accessible via archive.org,  a website that archives historic internet pages. Autoshite has had a look in, see here:

I remember stalking autoshite from mid 2008, joined in 2009 with my old username.

 

I remember Cortina MK5s being worth sub £500 and Metros about £200. I also recall a MK1 Astra estate I begged my mum to get me, and it sold for £230.

 

How times change.

I did have a thought of having proper articles on here somewhere. We've got a fair few people capable of writing something worth reading. How it gets hosted etc is another matter, I'm not sure why the original front page was removed to take you straight to the forums.

Wow. I remember when Autoshite was like that even whem I first joined way back in 2008 with that same front page and menus to the side, can it be brought back to how it was or is there a way of reinstating that front page? Archive only seems to have gone up to 2006.

No, the archive takes snapshots at different times. Below is the forum in 2012 for example. Look for the "waybackmachine" control below your address bar.
