I believe Eddy had it three times, and Eddy's mate had it for a bit. Also I think djimbob had it (he fitted the spangly stereo IIRC).

I bought it from Eddy and Angle won the roffle to take it off me.

I think I love you a little bit. I thought you'd get to Thornbury and find a nice little garden centre or something where you could have a coffee, read your book and wait for the big yellow truck. It made me feel good knowing you were somewhere warm when it started pissing down. But no.

 

And, um, sorry about the roof. It's honestly never done that before, even when it got stuck for the photo I thought a bit of fiddling with the switch ought to sort it out.

Great to see the experienced, if not slightly tired Swedish minx giving you a good time. I'm not sure your treatment of the engine bay was necessary prior to the watershed though. ;) - too much information!

These are a nice motor with a V6 under the bonnet.  I had one - sold it to Barmatt.

 

And we drove it a LOT for the next year or two, I think we put well over 10k miles on it but then things started going wrong in a very Saab like fashion so I'm afraid it got traded in against an RRC V8. Shame as I really liked the v6, not the most powerful thing but smooth as you like and returned mid 30's with obligatory hoonage just to listen to the v6. Defo would have another.

 

Good luck with this one, you've got some cajones on ya for even attempting this collection mission.

Mid 30s?  I'd believe that.  I always thought this one was remarkably frugal for a V6.

The trip computer yesterday went up from 23.2 mpg (at a guess city driving) to 32.2 mpg when it went pop. I thought the fuel gauge would have dropped faster than it did.

 

Today things where shunted around, the Lagoon Blue Allegro that almost killed DW has gone over to BeEP to be sold as a project to keep the fleet numbers down. That meant the Metro Mayfair could go in its place and the Saab can go on the concrete pad.

 

To do that the yellow Allegro estate was driven out, and decided to piss petrol all over the floor.

 

Also managed to adjust the hood clip so it didn't foul on the cover and the roof can shut (but won't latch) and mopped up the puddle in the hood recess.

Heh, I had an LDV 400 in the same colour.  Slowest turbo diesel van I've ever owned - a second slower to 60 than the non-turbo Iveco Daily it replaced.

It hasn't been used much recently and I commented to Craig this afternoon how slow it felt.  I'm hoping it's just that lack of use has made me forget rather than anything amiss; it's going somewhat further on another collection mission next week so time will tell.

I had a spare five minutes before work earlier. Decided to see what removing the engine cover would reveal, especially if I could see the heat exchanger.

The red screws were added last time it was in Norfolk, from an Austin 1100. Of course one was seized in and needed some help.

Revealed bugger all, so I gave up and had a hot bath.

There doesn't seem to be a V6 manual available so I've got one for a Senator being delivered.

BeEP came over yesterday and we had a game of five the heat exchanger. So removed the cast cover over the V and the inlet manifold.

No idea where it is. Next stop I think is to remove and clean out the mayo from the radiator and follow the cooling pipes with more engine visible. Never known an engine to have no manuals or on line guides.

There is also a plan to get round the lack of top hoses in Europe by using two E-series Allegro hoses which are dirt cheap.

 

In other Swedish news the Volvo 940 now has the 740 wheels (big thank you to JohnF and ohdearme for getting them). They now sport new Toyo Nanoenergies all round and look a lot better than the 850 steel wheels with spacers to make them fit at the front.

I believe these are the same as the Vauxhall V6 and there is a manual available for those. Sorry, I have no experience of these myself.

Thanks, I guess the UK didn't get many V6s. Sadly at least the Haynes Cavalier manual also didn't cover the V6, I'll have a look more widely.

It's a GM lump that isn't renowned for OMGHGF, weak spot on these is the oil cooler in the V rotting through allowing oil and coolant to cometh togehter in a creamy mess 

 

This guide should show you whats possibly going on, different intake manifold due to engine orientation but you'll get the gist
