All this talk of KAs MK1&2 Mondeos has reminded me that I have not seen any in ages either.

The local MK2 Mondeo and Ka have dissapeared and I don't ever recall seeing a MK1 Mondeo in the flesh.

Slightly cheating here but here my brother Mk1 Fiat Uno pictured today after passing it's Mot with my MK3 Vauxhall Cavalier. I still see a few Cavaliers locally but can't remember the last time I saw a Calibra other than at a Vauxhall show. Same with a Vectra B or a Tigra. Corsa B are getting thin on the ground now.

Haven't seen a Alfa 33 or 145 / 146 expect at a Italian Car show. Same with the 155 & 164.

Bar ours I never see a Fiat Uno though other than at a Italian Car show. Same with a Tipo / Tempra. The Marea and Bravo / Brava's have pretty much gone and same with Multiplas. MK1 Puntos and Cinquecento are a pretty rare sight but still spot the odd giffer example. Though again my brother has a MK1 Punto.

Haven't seen a Daewoo Nexia or Espero in years. When I first moved to where I'm living 10 years ago there was one of each locally. The Matiz I struggling to remember the last time I saw one too other than via AS.

Haven't seen a Volvo 440 in a long time or a Renault 19 & 21, Clio MK1. Same with early MK5 Escorts or a MK1 Mondeo.

Not seen any Ford Probes or Cougars for many years. Last Probe I saw (in about 2011) was semi-abandoned on a patch of waste ground deep inside Bricket Wood.....

There's a Probe on the end of my street. Very rarely see it out and about though...

Rural Suffolk is absolutely dire for old stuff compared to the mecca that is Southend on Tat where I grew up. I too play spot the letter prefix registration on my drives to and from work. In my village theres an N reg 205 and in the next village along a couple more 205s which belong to the same people and are often trundling around. An R reg, yellow Saab convertible I often see in the mornings and on the outskirts of Bury St Edmunds I often see, around 8:15 in the morning, a white Mk2 Astra van coming the other way, J961 JBJ. Sometimes I see an M reg Carina E and yet another 205 in the co op in Bury. That's about it for the regular users at least:(

The original elk-dodging Mercedes A-class.

There are a few about still but they must be evaporating at quite a rate 'cause just a few years ago they seemed to be everywhere.

I won't miss them.

A thread for all those cars that quietly disappear one by one until you realise that you haven't seen one for ages.

To get started, when did you last see a MK1 Vauxhall Tigra?

..

Remember the ads with Harry Enfield voice over?

"People who fold their Jim jams - they won't like this at all."

"The Tigra from Vauxhall. Fun, if you like that sort of thing".

My mate was incensed by those Ads "people who iron creases in their jeans" - he raged "I iron creases in my jeans!!!"

Then I asked him if he would ever consider buying a Tigra - to which he said "never" and realised the Ads were probably targeting the right people (i.e. not him).

By the same token, are there any Series 1 Audi TTs that missed the safety recall and don't have the tail spoiler fitted as a result?

Saw a mint Mondeo Mk2 on Sunday, was a X-reg though so one of the last. Even the sills were rust free and original.

Was even more surprised to see a Y plate Vectra B saloon in a work car park, it was in pretty damn good condition as well. In a maroon colour, a petrol GLS.

I haven’t seen an Escort Mk6 for a while though, although Gloucestershire is pretty good for shite once you get onto the side roads.

Non turbo Renault 5’s ! The last one I saw was owned by Mr Livered from on here .

I'd forgotten about this and wasn't sure RHD cars were even affected, but according to the Goverment recall list they were. Interesting they were all manufactured before the launch date.post-17414-0-00744700-1547510049_thumb.png

Interesting wording of the problem, presumably the drivers killed in Germany that led to the recall objected quite strongly and in aloud voice in their final seconds to their TT's road behaviour.

I'd still have mine if my ex wife hadn't disposed of it for me.

Fiat Tempra.  My uncle had a station wagon about 20 years ago when my cousins were little, but since he got rid of it I have never ever seen another one.

mki focus saloons

I appreciate they were always a bit lesser-spotted, but they seem to have vanished

Always look out for them as I own one, couldn't find anyone breaking one in the North East when I needed a radio unit!

Fiat Idea

My neighbour has recently changed his Golf GTi for one of these, in Indesit White.

A bright pink Seicento visits someone on our road weekly. It even has pink wheel trims.

Haven't seen a Mazda MX3 for a while.

LHM Citroens are disappearing quickly.

I miss 306s, we had loads of them over the year, our 2.0 Hdi was a hoot.

Sold this one in about 2 hours on Gumtree last year, bought by a banger racer, apparentlly for some particular class or track these are the weapon of choice. No idea why or if true but I had half a dozen calls on the first day and had to remove the ad when sold.

Talk of SEAT s made me think I haven't seen one of lairy Leons for ages, you know the R/Fr/Cupras. Always seemed to be yellow or red with diy tints, rattlecan black wheels, kerbed to death and a massively blowing exhaust. Sort of thing low rent pot dealers have before an A3.

Just out on foot round my estate and thought it be a good excuse to picture these. I did say to paulscavalier on another thread about taking a pictire of the Cav CD next time I was passing.

The Cav CD has been about the last 10 years since I moved here. Mot history shows it had welding and is likely to need more at the next Mot. Will keep an eye on it.

The 405 and Astra GTE's are recent additions! Only seen the 405 being driven so pleased to grab a picture today.

There also a P reg LDV Pilot about and a MK2 dubbed Golf nearby that hasn't moved for about 3 years.

Thinking about this thread again, there are 0 bubble Rovers round my way. The only ones I ever see are on here.

My job often takes me into the back of beyond, the car dumped in the corner of a farm yard or at the back of a plot, end of the garden etc is usually a bubble Rover.

It seems to be a fen tradition to run a car to it dies then dump it at the end of the garden, allotment or field.

Many disappeared when scrap was high but they are building up again.
