Oil slick rick took the mk3 golf I bummed for the engine,

That one you got off me? Haha that thing just won't die, with three Autoshite owners plus a reference to it's death it was getting quite the celebrity.

Can anyone reccomend a decent 2 ton trolly jack up to about £70? I've got a cheapo 2 ton one but it doesn't jack the car up far enough to get a decent height on the axle stands.

This RAC one for 50 quid looks like its got a decent lift height but being from argos its running the possibility of being crap.

If you want a decent trolley jack and have access to costco or know someone with a card they have a lightweight alloy jack that works out just over 100 quid but they are very light and decent quality. Plus costco give a lifetime warrenty. I bought one 5 years ago which started to make clicking noises a couple of months ago so I took it back and got a full refund. Not bad as I use it pretty much every day. They are also a proper size and a lot safer than these little cheap ones so worth the extra cost

No not that one they don't have it on the web as it was a 2 ton version of the alloy one at £99+vat. It was cheaper than that but they may not have them in stock any more I know they still had them a couple of weeks ago but that had been the first time I had seen them in ages. I think the make was Arcan I will check next time I go.

Will the 1.8 turbo diesel in a Rover 400 run on veg oil?

This is as in a Rover 418 turbo SLD Tourer circa 1996. I quite fancy a veg-oil express and I have always liked the look of these.

No, they are fitted with Lucas injection pumps.

This is a good resource for checking if a car's veggy compatible. Generally if it's listed as '1 tank' it'll be fine, if it's '2 tank' or 'No tank' it's not suitable without modifications.

A quick question for Albert Ross or anybody else who actually knows and not the "All modern cars are shit" brigade, What is the new shape Astra like?, Reliability mainy, is it better then the last shape?.

I'm on the look out for a new daily and I really quite like the look of the new shape compared to the last model, there's a 1.7 CDti Ecoflex SRi that's in my upper budget that's taking my fancy but it's a bit of a distance and I don't want to waste my time going to look at it if they are shit, It looks the parts and seems like a nice car to me.

This is the car. http://www.richlee.co.uk/stock-list/vau ... anual-1488

My sister's partner has one, it's a 1.6 petrol automatic (helpful) - they bought it for the German badge, but I think being an RHD Opel it's actually built at Ellesmere Port. It's not needed any attention other than a new battery.

Visibility is dreadful, the pillars would hide a few Mk1 Astras, but it's quite refined and rides well, as you'd expect for a small* family car that weighs more than an Omega.

Trigger if that's Richlee between wickford and Rayleigh, all I'd say is keep looking... As for the Astra why not rent a daily and see how you get on? There has been a new 1.6 GM (vice FIAT) cdti launched btw.

Its petrol and seems to lack low down torque,

I believe Volksy had one of these as a hire car and took it back as he thought it was dangerously underpowered.
