Has anyone used this stuff before

http://www.bilthamber.com/special-offers/electrox-patch-repair-kit

I've got a few tiny blebs of rust forming on the inner lip of my rear arches of the coupe, play was to use this pack to kill the rust and prime it and get some paint mixed to spray up the rear arch lip, feathering it in before it curves round the arch to a visible area, then slap a load of wax on the edges and behind the arch to stop it coming back, something like this

Does any one know of a decent paint shop in Northants where I can get some paint mixed that may actually match the color on my car?

I have used B-H for a couple of years now, much better than wankoyl.....You do have to be very thorough though and particularly with regard to the cleaning/rinsing process.  It appears to be very good stuff.

Seconded for BH stuff - I've been using the Deox gel for a couple of years. Also agree 100% with following the instructions fully! First job I did with it was the windscreen surround in the Disco, which came out well although did take a week or so of re-applications.

The Deox is a rust remover rather than a converter - the danger with the latter is unless it's only very light rust, you convert the top layer but leave untreated rust underneath. I found a forum where a guy had tested the cavity wax back to back with Waxoyl which was very interesting...will have to find the link.

Has anyone actually seen a 2015 tax disc yet?

Kurust is RUBBISH. I got sick of using it and having the rust come through again. If it's only good for surface rust, I'd rath sand it down properly that spend an hour brushing it on, and THEN sanding it off.

in the ebay threads, when you post a picture of the car in questions, a few people also post a quote from the listing. Now this snippet of wisdom by the vendor often appears in the style of a direct forum quote.

So, my question is, how would a chap like me (card carrying luddite with a very short temper) manage to replicate this quoitsh-ness?

What is this burnt-out car that I spotted today?

It has a five cylinder engine, diesel I think, and appears to have provision for seats in the boot. It also looks as if the top half might have been plastic.

Taff,  There's probably a better way but I quote the post above then delete all the text and copy + paste the text from the ad,  finish off by deleting the forum users name at the top of the quote and typing "ebay mong" in it's place

Looks like the bottom half of a Volvo XC90 to me. I don't think much would have been plastic though. 5 pot diesel , pop up back seat and the wheel design all point to Sweden. I don't think Renault ever put the Safrane engine in the Espace and weren't they petrols?

I think it is the same wheel, what model were they fitted to?

It's occurred to me that the whole body must be plastic, there is no sign of the doors or outer wings. Even Aluminium would leave a puddle surely. It's annoying me now :D  it should be easy with so many unusual features.

Definitely an XC90, that stupid narrow middle seat was the cause of a lot of arguments from my kids!

I write (quote) paste stuff in between (/quote) but use square brackets instead. You get this

I wonder what happened to the rest of the body.

Late to the party again ...  but, re my query from a few says ago about "horizontal" suspension, here is a video of a Fiat 500 with a 1300 bike engine and non upright springs.

There is also added Woolarding about 50 sec in  :-D

Hi

Got a chance with a Vauxhall Sportshatch on a V plate. Driver seat bolster is worn but he has a spare cover for the passenger seat (red velour!)

Can a passenger side cover actually fit a driver's side seat? I would have thought the little lever used to make the seat tilt forward would be on the wrong side and so there'd be a hole?

And wouldn't the shape of the seats differ a bit?

Also, above where you enter your post are two rows of icons.

Upon clicking on the one that resembles a speech bubble, you will be presented with a quote box open, ready and gagging to be pasted hard and deep with whatever text tickles your plums.

Is there a genuine reason a car reg number may not exist on either the DVLA enquiry, askmid, or a HPI lookup? Or do I just run for the hills?

My Puma rarely shows up when I am getting insurance quotes. I think it is because it was purchased in Belguim during that spate of importing cheaper UK spec cars from Europe fad from about 15 years back.

Apparently he has just taken a private reg off it which I suppose would make sense!

Anyone familiar with Ford Focus central locking?

Neighbour collared me this afternoon with a problem on her Y reg Focus Ghia which has working central locking on the driver's side only. IE the two passenger side doors neither lock or unlock with the key in the driver's door.

Google throws up every possible combination of Focus central locking issues, it seems to be a weak spot on them.

She's been online and thinks it's something to do with a hard to get at fuse hidden round the back of the fusebox, but my first thought was that if the fuse had gone none of the locks would operate?

Any of our resident boffins come across this one before?

Ok, maybe a silly question but what is a 5G Quintet? It can't be the Honda Quintet of old can it? MAYBEHOWMANYLEFT.COM are showing 74 of the buggers and there can't possibly be that many Quintets left, surely?

There seems to be some confusion between those, and '01 shape Civics - presumably the Japanese (typically) used recycled names for different markets, and a few early imports have shown up on the system.
