Never had one.  Want one.  Looking at cheap Silver Spirits on Evilbay.

Send help.

I wanted to scratch the V8 itch too, but specifically with a manual gearbox for all teh funs.

So I bought a Land Rover Discovery 4.0 V8, which at least adds a bit of practicality to the financial ruin :-)

If you want the experience of owning a v8 just send me all your money. I have only had one, a Porsche 928, whenever I think I might like something with a v8 I remind myself of how it tried to bankrupt me.

Me too, and electrics that defied the laws of physics and left an electronics engineer mate needing counselling.

Think that's bad? I had a Chevy Celebrity with the 2.9 V6. All the financial ruin of a V8 with none of the performance or street cred.

I'm doing this wrong aren't I?

I had the same itch. Had a stag up to to 2 years ago and just recently bought a petrol L322 Range Rover. Glorious sound and very refined at the same time. Not expensive to scratch the itch but I know it’ll bite me at some point.

The trouble is, like all itches, once you've scratched it you'll have no choice but to keep scratching.  This is my third Cadillac.  But the sense of serenity it gives you is unbeatable.

I have said for years that electrics in motor cars do not conform to normal physical laws.

For a V12 you pretty-much have to be Junkman.  A V8, especially a slightly shabby American one, is very much the working man's luxury car. ;)

He drives a 4pot pug.......his last v8 saw him off

Xtriple is driving me mad with his jag though. I’m constantly wondering if I could have one as a daily!
