Old dear is a fan of Brum obscure car threads I see.

I await the posts stating 'its a brand new car for £30' etc. Yawn.

Seems a bargain, regardless.

My son has a Punto a year older than that and its a good little car.

On old fella I know had one, and despite severe abuse and total neglect (like no oil change for 6 years / 70,000 miles) it kept going to way past 150,000 miles.

I thought they were utter shite until I encountered that one. He only scrapped it and bought another new Punto, when the head gasket eventually went pop.

Electric PAS often gives trouble, but not a major issue in my experience.

Not bad for the money I guess. I reckon I could do the cam belt on one of those in just over an hour now that I have the practice. What really annoys me with it though is that the timing marks are rubbish and it is hard to lock the cam off. As long as the power steering and OMGHGF are not issues, and rust is not rampant, it will keep going. They are quite nice to drive in my opinion.

I wax be amazed if it is solid - normally they have the structural integrity of a bubble at this age.

They were a favourite of car hire companies in Ireland in the early 2000s.
