Sorry to hear of the loss of this Micra.

That's what mine had.

Drivers door has moved back a few mm, and there are ripples in the o/s/f suspension turret. Beyond reasonable repair sadly.

Any accident you can walk away from can’t be too bad, and it has to be said the little Micra did it’s job well. I’ve got a sore head where I bounced off the top of the B-pillar, and some sore muscles in my wrists and ankles, but other than that I’m fine.

:-( Hopefully your not to sore tomorrow. RIP wee k11.

Good you could walk away from that one, every better it still got you home.

Yeah what everyone else has said. Shame about the car, but glad nobody hurt.

Damn, sorry to hear.

I would say the usual AS mantra in this situation, get checked out by GP, just to be on the safe side.

Gaffa tape & that will be good till the MOT is up.

I wish! Sadly it doesn’t drive straight - I think it’s moved the lower wishbone mounts.

Glad you're ok. I've hit a badger when doing over 50mph, it did my ZX no good at all. They are solid bastards! Smashed he front valance, broke the rad off it's mounts, bent the metalwork behind etc Not recommended!

A short-lived relationship with the poor little Micra, they are cracking little cars  :?

A trip to the breakers and a few hours spannering would have that in reasonable condition again.

Glad it wasn't more serious.

Glad you're OK. Bit of a bummer that you suffer the delights* of a Hitachi and an ADL E40D to collect a lovely piece of chod only for this to happen.

RIP Micra, actually I had a set of front wings bonnet and front bumper lined up on e bay due to the paint but as you say if the suspension mounts have distorted it’s probably game over. For a k11 that front crossmember looks great!

Glad I had new rubber put on it all round, with the awful perished ones it did have on it it could’ve been a lot worse. That slightly chewed up looking OSF tyre might have blown out if it wasn’t basically brand new, hang on is that the spare?

Yes, the o/s/f tyre was damaged so I had to put the spare on.

Saying as its borken its crash cherry now, maybe it can go off and have a few loops of the oval.

Sorry to hear that man and glad you're still in one piece. Car did its job. Good car.

When I was little, Pops slammed his anchors on to avoid a dog that ran into the road and catapulted me from the back seat into the windscreen, messing me up a bit. He said after that he would never swerve or put people in the car at risk for a loose animal. He hit a few pheasants after that but hapilly never a dog.

Im no hater of animals, but I follow the same principles now. If youve got more than two legs, get out of the way or youre getting run over. I wont risk my OH or passangers trying to avoid animals in the road. Unless its a fucking Stag, or cow, or giraffe thats likely to put the people in the car at even greater risk if you hit it.

I had the misfortune to see the result of a car hitting a dog at 70mph many years ago when I worked at a petrol station on the A52 near Derby. The taxi was hit by the passenger side light and the passenger had to be cut out with nasty ankle injuries, apart from one leg you could not tell what it had hit. He reckoned it was spaniel sized but I doubt he would have had much of a look at it. I am still amazed by the damage caused by a medium sized animal. I avoid hitting anything partly because its just the way I am and partly because of that day. I nearly hit a deer on the way down to Goodwood early one morning in a brand sparking new hire van with half a ton of electric car in the back. That would have killed the passenger had we hit it I am sure.

And good to here that the OP has lived to tell the tale intact on this one.

In my experience of these the wishbone bends before the mount. My friend's son skidded on oil in his and crashed the front wheel into a large boulder, resulting in the front n/s wheel being pushed back an inch. The car made it home 150 miles with everyone thinking it was written off ,but a new wishbone and trackrod and some bodywork tidying saw it live on ,and it's still in daily use over a year later.

well thats a bit very shit indeed, still at least you are all right.

cars come and go, peeps, thinking of Dave-of-many-numbers are much more irreplacable.

me mam had a K11 for many, may years, and save the tickle of the welder on the back of the sills for its MOT a couple of times, it was an ace little thing.

it was replaced eventually by a K12, which in time passed to me. and which i got rid off as soom as i coulld cos i hated the bloody thing!

compared to the K11, the K12 was an utter turd....

RIP and glad you're OK.

The car still looks (and probably drives) better than 90% of the K11s that are still active on pizza delivery round here.

Car did its job and even got you home, with zero artachment to said car it's time for the scrappy, make your money back and start hunting down the next one.

The terminal bit - ripples in the inner wing as well as the door having moved.

I’m away for 10 days in North Wales tomorrow onwards, so it’ll sit and await its fate the day I come back. If anyone wants it and is mad enough to come and get it, let me know. The engine is spot on, as is the gearbox. Still has 3 good tyres and a few other spares, otherwise it’s going over the bridge when I get back.

Bloody hell, a car crash then ten days in North Wales? You must have done something pretty bad in a past life!

Seriously though, glad you weren't badly hurt. It must have been horrible and we're all relieved it wasn't worse. Enjoy your holiday, you certainly deserve it.

Those ripples are from the factory pressing.

i don't see anything terminal there, you most likely have a bent wishbone, although it is difficult to tell from the pic.

My nephew races K11's and they can take quite a wallop.

I concur, perfect cars for rallycross. I don't think the damage is as bad as you claim. My mother had the entire side of her Honda Jazz ripped off by a Transit in a similar fashion and some steering components, two doors and a front wing were enough to get it shipshape again. Plus I don't want to see the lovely little thing die!

Sorry to hear about the accidumpt mr 83, at least you are safe and in one piece, though I must concur with previous statements of getting checked out, even if it's a trip to the A&E and say you've been in a minor car accident. I hope nothing develops through the night and you wake up with aches and pains delaying your plans.

Yep just looked around and confirmed this on other K11's but it would still need for only the wishbone to be bent, not it's mountings and then hope that the door is out of alignment because hinges are damaged rather than the bottom of the B-pillar. If all three worked in 83C's favour it'd still be a load of work to replace everything (which someone should absolutely do to save the car anyway of course).

Glad that you seen to have come out fairly well 86C.

Hope you are OK sir. A most unfortunate accident. I probably would have done the same faced with that scenario.

As others have said, go see the doc just to be on the safe side, especially with a head injury.
