LightBulbFun Posted October 2 Author Posted October 2 since we are on a clean page! I thought now would be a good time to post some of the perticularly nice pictures I had rounded up and was was hoping/saving to post for Page 400 celebrations https://www.dudleypeoplesarchive.com/ephemera https://joanbolton.muchloved.com/ a special for @Mrs6C, @egg and @BlankFrank , another XWC to go with @barrett's Invacod? a nice rare picture showing a Tippen Delta Mk1 all together now! found this in the comments of a facebook post, its a shame whoever posted it cropped out the person obviously standing proudly next to it! casually parked Invacar Mk12, as if no one told it its 2024 and not 1971 this was an exciting find by Adam, which I ID'ed as being the DNX car! I was hopeful it was a recent picture, but alas doing some digging, shows it to be from 2009 also "bus halt" *looks around for the segfault sign* what caught my eye on this is the GEC Difractor streetlight, I mean the AC Invalid Car, a floppy top but with glass sliding windows still is a rare configuration for one of these, and I also cant help but notice the sideways mounted mirror on the A post! a Stanley Mk7, late one on a B suffix, still looking out for one on a C suffix, I know they ended production and the sole surviving Stanley Mk7 is a 1965 car, so that one in itself will be on a C suffix a very rare picture of an Invacar Mk10A, and in colour to boot! "what say you, bet you 10 bob I can beat to the end of the road there?" I perticularly like this picture of UVW285L as I finally have a half decent photo of an L suffix Invacar Model 70 on Silver on Black plates, I have have managed to get a couple decent ish AC shots, but none for Invacar (just video stills etc) because Model 70 being fleet vehicles etc they remained on silver on black plates until the 1st of Jan 1973 when the rules forced them to finally switch I like this shot as its said to be in the East of London somewhere, also bonus 2CV sneaking into the lineup of Invacars for @dollywobbler https://www.deutschefotothek.de/documents/obj/71874530 a nice comparison of Invacar Mk12c vs Invacar Mk12D, I like how they have attached the L plates (also note the DHSS Reserve sticker in the windscreen of the Mk12c XVW614F) https://www.christleton.org.uk/site/magazine/emagazine_apr_2020.pdf and finally, a special one for @Datsuncog https://thenewartgallerywalsall.org.uk/event/2024-collections-programme-launch/ "Mo Wilson, Graham Totty with his collection of Ledo models from The People’s Show 1992" Datsuncog, AdgeCutler, ETCHY and 32 others 35

I have to say, I don't think some of the arrogance on show there does you any favours LBF. I agree that it was not my best form and somewhat on the nose, but as you can tell I really dont like it when people spread disinformation about these vehicles! I and others have worked for many years to to clear their name so to speak and try and sort out the misinformation that is normally associated with them*, so I want someone who's information is out of date coming in here and setting the clock back! and its not the first time PVD has suddenly turned antagonistic, so I will admit I was quite curt with my opening and ending there and I am not proud of it *for example I see Graham hills comments from the Hansard reports where pulled up, but look at the dates 1969-1970, is when he had that Invalid vehicle, he was driving an AC Acedes Mk15 Model 67, nothing to do with the Model 70 at all, so really not a fair comparison/comment to use against the Model 70 and theres lot of things like this, theres another Hansard report to do with the Model 70, where they talk to a User about his "Model 70" and despite trying to verify in the hansard report that he indeed has a Model 70, its pretty clear he does not, as he talks about it having 1 door and 1 wheel drive, so obviously not a Model 70! and then he goes on about having had it for 20 years! (keep in mind this is the mid 1970's here) so really not a Model 70 LOL lesapandre and ETCHY 2

warren t claim Posted October 2 Posted October 2 "Recently, the famous racing driver, Mr. Graham Hill, used a wheelchair as a result of an accident, and he was asked to test one of the three-wheelers for a national newspaper. I will quote his own words. He said: I was so appalled at what I found that ever since then I have tried everything within my power to publicise the fact that such vehicles should not be allowed on the road. If those strong words are not enough, would add that an independent test was carried out by the Cranfield Institute of Technology, and confirmed what Mr. Hill had said. Indeed, there were seventy points presented. I shall not weary your Lordships with all of them, but I will mention just a few which will no doubt be appreciated by the drivers among your Lordships. The test showed that the trikes are difficult to control in high winds; they are dangerous when braking and swerving; they have a flimsy fibre glass body which 749is not structurally reinforced, and indeed may well be inflammable in the event of fire; the petrol tank is mounted under the front of the bonnet; and they have only one door which could well prevent a driver from getting out in the event of the vehicle turning over. It is not difficult to see that the trike is outmoded and dangerous." High praise from a man who made his living driving a flimsy plastic deathtrap lashed together in a Norfolk shed by a corrupt, tax-dodging spiv who didn't give a fuck about the safety of his drivers.
