Has anyone had a lorry transported? Is it hi - NOW BODGE 50 HORSEBO11OX THREAD (Now with added turtles)

Get your skates on Bo11, weather forecast is grim for the weeks leading up to Christmas.

Nice work though, this is proper shiters methodology in action - buy something cheap, do a huge amount of work on it knowing that if you sold it you’d get about 4 quid more.

Tell me about it. I'm in for a total of about £2400 on this POS so far, and for that I've got a knackered, still-rusty MOT-less lorry blocking my kitchen window

Hey, what spot weld drills are you using? I had a good one about 10 years ago that I got from an old man at a car boot sale but I lost it and everything I've tried since has given up after about half a dozen holes.

That's about the cost of a blackout blind for a Velux window...

I'm using a couple of 'Dormer' brand spot weld drills, I've had them for years and they still seem as good as the day I bought em! Just got em off eBay like, half expected them to be hoo flung dung efforts but theyre top notch!!!

I can't really see you loosing on it at that money with a test on it.

Between you and SIC, nothing is now beyond being "too rusty" to be repaired.

Nice work.

Really? I feel like it's probably my worst ever internal-combustion-engined 'investment'!!!! (And that's saying something, I can tell you).

All I can do is plough on though and work towards turning it back into a going concern!

A couple of Summers selling vegan cappucinos out the back of it, and you’ll have your money back

Progress is good. You'll soon be into the 'Handy Andy' moments with the MDF on the inside.

I wish!!! That seems like the fun bit but it also seems a flippin mile off! I want to repanel the box with tongue & groove before doing the interior. I keep scanning to see how nice a caravan you can get for £800 or so to rob all its gubbins:

Not that nice it turns out!!!!! But, I only want to rob the appliances - oven, hob, 3-way fridge, water pump, gas heater, sofa cushions, maybe a window or two etc etc so I'm not too fussed about all the horrible brown wood-effect bollocks.

Yeah its flippin great that isnt it, what a nice job. I wonder why they didnt convert a luton-type box though so they could have the bed over the cab? Seems a logical arrangement to me.

Don't forget the water heater too, they cost a few pence & are always worth having.

Tell me about it! How does the engine run in this big beast? From my current experience, I recommend not opening up to check anything!

Posted

Well the engine is its best bit. Its absolutely great, far better than everything else on the truck!!!

You should pick up a caravan with a leak for a lot cheaper than £800. As long as the interior and some windows are all ok the rest is binned.

In periwinkle blue?

Surely looking at caravans is the wrong approach...

Rotten camper van that's just failed an MOT catastrophically would be cheaper I'd have thought.

That would go nicely with the catastrophically rotten horse box.

Hey does anyone have a hot tip for where I could buy a new pair of ‘old font’ pressed aluminium plates for this thing?
