Just been out before the rain hit, and there is an additional car here! Unfortunately it is a VW Golf TDI Y plate, and it belongs to a friend who is storing it here for a few days while he repairs his trailer.

 

Bucketeer has been here before, but if he is here now he is hiding well.

I politely laughed (to match her fake smile) and joked* that if they had more room on their one-car driveway, I’d have been asking her to use the space as an overflow car park.

She fucked off pretty rapidly after.

Years ago we lived in a terraced house with on street parking but some allotments sited to the rear had been bought (in 1968) by the then residents of the terrace to use as back gardens instead of original miniscule  privvy containing yards.

By 2001 when we moved in some were mostly used as extra long driveways, not that the original gardening hiatus liked this; my record was 5 cars, 2 mots no road tax stored in this other Eden which somehow belonged to us, one particularly outraged neighbour showed her distaste at me parking my own cars on my own property, I asked her in which specific way my collection  bothered her or directly impacted on her personal enjoyment of her garden; She just walked off and never spoke to me again.

(Which I considered a massive improvement in neighbourly relations)

List dated 29th April shows dollywobbler number 41 and panhard65 as number 5. Don't know how up to date the list is.

 

Lucky escape or missed chance? Maybe we will never know. It had a towbar though.
