Worth it for the interior alone!

What a weapon.

I had one of these as my first car. The most reliable car I have ever owned. Typical late 90's Jap car recipe: Boring but bulletproof.

Looks canny that. No Im sworn off buying unmotd cars though.

Cracking cars and a bargain at that. I do wonder if the marketing department were having a quiet laugh calling it the inspiration though.

Test drove one like that a few years ago, slightly older one.  Was a very strong engine for the size and genuinely impressive little car.  Didn't buy it because of an undiagnosed wheel balancing fault (it was £350) but I was very impressed and remain impressed with these Micras.

I like K11 Micras. I've spent the last week driving them. I'd like to have had £500 spare for purchaseage but alas as always. My bank account says; No.

Good luck with sale Mr Grice (any relation to: GadgetGricey of this parish?)

Indeed, I think it may be one of my favourite seat patterns! Shame it’s out of test as that would be ideal for a work commuter.

The 1.3 is genuinely spritely. Back in 2003 I had a MK2 Golf GTi and my sister had a Micra 1.3. Around the doors, the Micra was brisker and much easier to use. It would only run out of legs over 50.

Great cars. Personally, I’d get a year’s test on it and bang it up for £795.

Did think about it but the idiot SORNed it I ain't risking my license because he's a test, if it doesn't sell I'll weigh it in for scrap, it's caused to many arguments over the years.

Not sure what you mean.... book it in for an MOT and drive it there....how do they expect you to tax it without first MOTing it?

Posted

You can tax a car with no MOT now.

Not sure I’d bother, personally. But, from memory, MOT Tax and Insurance are all now mutually exclusive.

Pretty sure you can’t. You can tax a car without insurance but you get pulled up by CIE after a few weeks.

MOT is still required.

I will have a 1.3 K11 at some point in time as a city car, but the Streetshite is performing admirably at present. By the time it fails, there'll still be millions of the blighters left on the road, the ultimate cockroach the K11 if the tinworm doesn't get em.

But yes an MoT will make it more attractive and, er, inspire people to give it a whirl. GLWTS

Calling garage first thing. Might be better if I sell son and keep car?

Believe me this thought has crossed my mind on more than one occasion regarding my children.

Just weigh it in.

The MoT runs out on my bike at the end of the month, but had to get new tyres for it, so attempted to tax it on line. Sucess! Last time I tried to tax a bike where the MOT expired before month end, I could not - new MOT was needed first.

Sorry for the thread derail - GLWTS.

Nooo! Anything but this. If it comes to it, I'll see what I can do but I'm already spreading myself too thinly plus out of work again = hardship.

As has probably already been said, you can insure a car and drive it to a pre-booked MoT and back home if it does/doesn't pass. I have done this many times without any problems (and without trade plates) good luck and hope this great little K11 fights to live another day. Never tried a 1.3 myself yet.

I'd put a test on it first, anyone spending £500 would expect it with some MOT on it.

My 14 year old nephew loves k11's.

He's after a 1.3 gearbox for his latest one.

£500 to a shiter with no mot or you'll scrap it?

I'm heading to Leicestershire to weigh my cars in from now on ☺

To be fair to your lad at least he SORNED it, many wouldn't.

I would really like a 1.3 3-door like this, apparently it's not difficult to squeeze a bit* more than 75bhp out of them and there's no shortage of rally car hop up parts for the suspension and brakes etc. Just the 4 other cars to fix up and deal with in the meantime though, so I'll regretfully have to pass on this one, as lovely as it looks. Good luck with the MOT and subsequent sale, it would be a real shame to scrap it.
