After 8.5 years at the same company I am now unemployed, and it feels very very good!! Hopefully the redundancy comes through in October but for the time being I am going to relax on here with a beer.

It also means I can lavish some cash monies on the 75 and have all the belts done and a general KV6 overhaul soon.

This was sent round at work today and made me smirk.  Apparently a middle school art project entitled "candlelight".

The lass who posed for the bottom right one needs to get to a doctor pretty quick. Think it's gonna fall off.

That's a quality* paper is that.  Not only is there an obsolete Renner in the boy racer article, there's a BT yellow Maestro van blurring past.

Forced to test the brakes on the primrose 75 today.

I was coming back from Chelmsford around the back doubles in national speed limits, approaching a bend I was slightly distracted by a high top transit flying around the bend towards me like an absolute nutter, he cut the corner big time so I tucked myself in to save the side of the Rover, then all of a sudden noticed the van in front of me had just stopped dead to turn right..........to say I literally stood on the brakes is no exaggeration, but the 75 did well and stopped on a sixpence with no pulling, just a very short skid..

Phhhew!  8)

From my occasional BBC-shite series, this fine piece of T-reg sat truck shite in Scotland expired today. Pic borrowed from a tv reporter friend on Facebook who presumably isn't reporting live tonight...

How on earth has a T-reg Sprinter survived this long, especially in Scotland?  It should be just glass and plastic left by now.

Brown slightly sticky and malodorous stripe.

Never mind, Rover thoughtfully supplied a colour matched leather box in the rear armrest that contained a spare pair of emergency skivvies.

With TV sat trucks, the cost of the underlying van is almost irrelevant - the dish on the top alone will cost more than the Merc. So they're brim full of waxoyl and maintained very well to get them to last as long as possible. It's only when the TV equipment gets obsolete that they tend to be retired.

In a similar vein my old radio station is running an X-reg 807.

Revving hard from 3k in first and carrying it on into second. Never fails to amuse.

I got my income tax bill last week and it's a fraction of what I was expecting - wondering if they've made a mistake? I gladly paid the 212 pound overdue fee.

Oh that's terrible. Someone should go around and post their mugshots on bus shelters etc. so they're easier to recognise.

Just discovered Mornington Crescent. Fortunately my boss had left for the day when I could stifle my tittering any longer, had to take my headphones off and collapsed into a pool of my own tears of laughter at my desk with concerned colleagues wondering if everything was alright!
