Lol, what an image. The bloke in the top left-hand corner of the pic looks as if his face was Photoshopped on. The bloke in the cream-coloured mac looks like some sort of old-school detective Sergeant of "the yard", the excited bloke behind him in the glasses and similar coat looks like his oppo.

The bloke dressed in Black standing very still behind the bloke getting kicked looks very distant, as if his attention is somwhere else, or frozen with fear, or indeed just simply disinterested...

Anon User, good spot! Is that a 2000?

Look at the fugly german VAG Golf / A3 / Yawn POS parked in front of it compared to the lines of the SD1.

Posted

I think it was a 2600SE, sorry I was too lazy to cross the road, I was in urgent need of a cake and by the time I came back it had gone.

Posted

Yes, have checked its coming up as a 2600 on Doovla.

It seems to have lost its front spoiler, that was what made me think it was a 2000.

Which of this refers to the Volvo and which to him, I'm not sure.

Going to see a car tomorrow. I raided the cash machine this evening to withdraw enough pennies, and am taking the trailer, so buyage is likely.

There wont be a live thread, my telephone is designed for simpletons and/or old people - ie big buttons, no other features and cost €14 from the supermarket. Hopefully I will post a highlights thread later in the day.

Went to the tip earlier along some of the worst roads I know locally, and its transformed! Can feel more of the holes through the steering wheel but I presume that's a good thing. But no more noise! Means I re-bushed the rear for no real reason though, meh!

Counter to yesterday's bike shop grump.

Went down today to get my bike back - cables on, gears adjusted, everything seemingly regreased. No cassette though as they'd changed it as a matter of course, but they did so without asking and added £27 onto the original quote. I didn't agree with this so I said I didn't want that, and, as I found out, they just took the cassette off and left it at that, taking £23 off the bill.

I asked for my old cassette back, then - the shop bloke looked a bit like this:

He'd binned it, and grudgingly gave me the same one he'd just taken off, which I took home and put on myself. Went off to Evans Cycles, got a chain for a tenner and stuck that on too.

It's a bloody good bike, and I saved £12 too.

Today I'm another year older and I have spent a lot of it doing something I love, tinkering with a car without a care in the world, What more could I want

Just taxed my 75 for the year, that's all good. Then after the form was completed I was greeted with 'How about becoming a donor for the NHS' ??

WTF? Just taxing my car thanks, what have the NHS got to do with it? LOLZZZ

Just heard the blue 75 cruised nicely for the 300 odd miles from Southend to Southport today, and had to deal with some serious hold ups on the M6  :-D

Bit of spirited flying by Kevin Rumens during the Vulcan 558 perfomance at RIAT yesterday.

Fantastic sight.Right from takeoff.

Just Fantastic isn't it Dave!?

I saw it come low over Southend a few weeks ago but they kept it very tame, still an amazing sight.

It seems WJ Furber's breakers are closing, and soon by the sound of it...

They are opening all the sheds for clearing before August 9th

No details on cars or parts at the mo,but it must be worth a call to ask

I heard they were in trouble a while back and I went to their salvage sheds a couple of months back but it was all locked up. They used to have some really interesting stuff knocking about (inc. new old stock body shells for random cars) and the salvage yard was unreal. It always seemed to be full of Midlanders buying damaged Ferraris and Rolls Royces for crazy money.

Legend always had it that the owned every single house bar one by his breaker's yard in the middle of nowhere, by Whixall Moss.

Parky, just looked at the kitteh pic again and realised the kitteh has front paws the size of a fucking mountain lions.

He is cute though.

The family's been in trouble for the last year or so. The word is HMRC have been keeping a close eye on them.......

The yards at Prees have some epic stuff in them,it's just they were asking stupid prices for any of it !

The last time I paid a visit they had 5 Triumph Commando Jubilee's parked in a row, from a fire damaged shop i heard

Asking over 5k each for them a couple of years back.....

May take a ride down there after work Monday tho, just for a look see.....

I walked through a film location this morning. Following a 6mile ramble in the Surrey hills I suddenly came across dozens of trucks, lighting rigs and temporary roads. Mucked up my navigation something proper!

From googling the area, it seems to be a Disney remake of beauty and the beast due out in 2017.

Only vehicle of note was an e reg fire tender-huge thing it was.

Had to go to my sister's today for a family do. Normally a grump due to London driving standards. However this morning I heard something fairly juicy burble up behind us near Kew Bridge. Checked the mirror and saw a bright orange Plymouth Superbird, and behind that a black Model A. My little boy's eyes nearly popped out of his head when I pulled in to let them past!

Saw the spit of vulg zebantia this morning except lots more dust. Will try and go back for pics.

Also explaining to a 16year old why an immaculate mk2 escort isn't as lovely as a mk4 with shite bodykit...

Malta certainly has some choice chod and classic cars. E Type and fezz racing up main road....

Talked to the guy who owns a shiny newish Audi A6 down the road as he lay on the road replacing the brake pads and giving his brake system a clean while waiting for the oil to drain out, great bloke who knew a lot about his cars.

Seems like not all Audi drivers are wankers.
