That's not 'the' Fiat, is it?

Yes. It is.  I feel privileged to have seen and heard it on the move in a much quieter setting than its Goodwood appearances which I missed (Chateau Impney yesterday)

I hope it becomes a regular performer at such vintage events.

You wont leave alive if you do that!

Won't leave with any Dyson's either as they pass them to their "mate", might take my phone and ask them to check his plate as I thought he was stealing so took his photo.

Jobsworth at the tip, I'm sure I heard one of them telling the other to take my registration number...

- Good luck with that as it's not my car.

I'm going back tomorrow with some more stuff on purpose.  :-P

I've got a wheen of old shonky car tyres to get rid of, and the local authority's now given us a "car pass" that we have to display to get in.

Seeing as the route to the coup is on a current cycling route too, it's going to be interesting later on this week when I turn up on the mountain bike with a rear carrier full of 165/70r13s.

Just filled in my tax return. Second year on the trot that I've got my finger out in July and got it done. No January panic for me! And I'm getting a refund too. And I'm going to look at a Dyane on Thursday. WCPGW?

I had a letter from HMRC few weeks back with tax refund. The amount did put a big grin on my face followed by few swear words when I started to think how much they 'overcharged' me every month.

A bloke complimented my Charade at the pez station at the weekend, I was quite taken aback.

Usual line, used to have one, suprised any left...

Kinda expect it in the older stuff but a white 90s bland jap hatchback, not so.

Misfire sorted I think. Ht lead 1 down. Seems to be ok at the minute, The lead I'm using is shorter than the proper one but it's doing the job as a get by.

Dead pleased, on Sunday I won a set of fairly tidy old 3 & 2 seater cream leather sofas off ebay...for £16!  Seller was only 9 miles away but it turned out the 3 seater had been damaged the week before and taken to the tip and he'd forgotten to cancel the auction.  Oh well.

He then said 'but you can have the 2 seater for free if you want it'.  No argument from me!  I headed over after work this evening.  Next question: does a large, solid wood-framed sofa fit in a Volvo 940?

Course it bloody does.  Didn't even bother taking the feet off.  He wouldn't take payment so I'll put some money to a charity for it, it'll be ideal after a quick clean.

Second grin, sold the CG125 tonight.  The buyer had messaged me a few times, offered me a good price but his terse messages left me concerned he might be a bit difficult to deal with although he seemed keen.  How wrong was I?  Turned up bang on time tonight, a young lad buying his first bike to do up after seeing loads of CG125s buzzing around in Sri Lanka and Thailand; he'd just come back from travelling.  I showed him the bike and highlighted all the faults, he was perfectly happy with it, handed over the cash, they loaded it into his mate's van, off they went.  Easiest transaction in the world and it's gone off to be fixed and ridden rather than broken for bits.  People really have been great tonight.

Accidentally pulled the entire front off my radio.

It's empty! Why is it in such a bloody massive case?! Why have I struggled to fit the wiring behind it to accommodate a MASSIVE EMPTY BOX??

edit: I meant to put this in the Grumpy Old Man thread. I wondered why phil_lihp was upset about a settee fitting in his car.

I guess if it's just an MP3 player and FM receiver, they can cram those into a tiny MP3 player or mobile phone these days.  Still looks ridiculous though and makes you wonder why some cars still come with enormous double-din stereos.

Pioneer do make sensibly proportioned ones:

I suppose they're using the same casing as the CD player version of mine.

Apologies that this isn't shite related. Bad form and all that, I know.

I'd forgotten all about this until this evening - 'I'm becoming trapped in a balloon'.

This makes me more than grin. You've probably seen it before but why not take a few minutes to enjoy it again?

I've spent the afternoon taking mrs fp's escort rs apart so I can make a start on the uprated engine management so I can get rid of the KE jetronic, i got as far as replacing the timing belt, replacement crank pulley (micro v type) and trigger ring, crank sensor bracket, alternator(to suit the pulley) and bracket, new belt and modify the alternator wiring, it's all buttoned back up so it can still be used.
