After an mot pass last week tried to change the taxation class of my 2cv to historic. Failed at the post office, quick chat with dvla told me that the date of manufacture they have was wrong (12 months after registration!)

So I wrote to dvla, posted on Saturday. Just checked online and it's showing as taxed until 2016 never had a free tax car before, now I can see about taxing my Lotus as well

Traffic was slowish in the left hand lane of the A4232 going up to the M4 earlier, I am pleased to say the hold up was a Swallow bodied Austin 7; it wasn't that it was going really slow, more that people were slowing down to gawp at it as they passed. It looked tiny, but I bet there was more space in it than my Suzuki Alto.

I know I've moaned about Flickr's image recognition technology but I've just discovered the so called 'magic view' that lets you see your photos grouped by category and had to chuckle at some of its classifications. I have no photos of boats but under the tag 'boat' are seven buses and most bizarrely an Allegro It also thinks a Metrobus is a building. although admittedly they're very boxy things that look not unlike a block of flats on wheels.

Chompy and I took turns doing welding and blowing out underseal fires.  We have now broken the back of the welding on the Princess, it's all much more reasonable sized patches from here.  Really looking forward to finishing it off and doing a big update to show my not-perforated car.

Four yoofs on modern 125 motorbikes (Honda's and Yamahas) approaching the Galleys Corner roundabout on the A120 at Braintree. The first three enter onto the roundabout and bugger off. The fourth of the group enters the roundabout, knee stuck right out. "Oh dear" I thought, until he tips it right over and knee down all the way to his exit. Sorry, but so cool for an old boy like me to see.
