Cheap stuff.

We're just about to head off to IKEA to order a new kitchen - they've given us the prices of units, worktops, sink, appliances etc. Came in to quite an acceptible price and less than we were thinking.

BUT, that's never good enough. So I went hunting around at work for all the clearance products, end of line, ex demo stuff.... integrated microwave down from £320 to £130 (IKEA wanted £300!), induction hob for £140 from £250, dishwasher was £320 now £120, picking a fridge/freezer up tomorrow for £230 which is half price. Saved enough for one of those posh integrated coffee makers - but only because it's also on clearance and the store are going to phone me when they've chiseled some more off the price :)

Holiday booked, going down to Wuvvum's neck of the woods. Steam train, tank museum, horse drawn cart, seal spotting and maybe a sneaky visit to the Dad's Army museum.

My wife is looking at buying a new car, and the dealer yesterday was discussing engine options with her..."Now, what do you understand about horsepower?"

I tried not to laugh at her response "I used to work as an engine designer!"

Good to see that the world of car sales is still happily and squarely sitting in the 1950s. When my sister picked up her Range Rover a couple of years ago, the dealer showed her how to use the SatNav and stereo, and showed her the warning lights, then waved his hand over the suspension & gearbox settings and said "don't worry about any of that, your husband will sort those out". I'm not sure how she stopped herself decking him.

Was sunny a bit bored so took the Fiesta out for a nice drive. Was only out for about 45 minute and either I used a ton of petrol or the semi working gauge is being a git as it lost a whole section

If you're around Wells, give me a shout as I am occasionally down that way, and my brother might be found in one of the local hostelries ;)

We had a rear brake hose burst on the Mrs ' disco 3 last week

Landrover want nearly 1k to do the job as it's a body off for them

Local garage wanted 300 ish

Ordered 25' of copper pipe, flaring tools and a load of fittings for less than 40 off eBay,then spent a couple of hours underneath the car

Job done without too many swear words

Feckin Landrovers lol

Just noticed I'm user number 4472 :)

Though if I was picking I'd rather be 4464.

there is no more famous locomotive than 4472/60103 so i'm very jealous.

A4 are all very pretty and flash and fast, but it will have been the A3's that did all the work. well ther was only 35 A4's while there was 74 odd A3's

Lovely place. In fact, although we (obviously) haven't tried every coastal resort in Britain, I honestly don't think anywhere will beat North Norfolk.

This!

Exclamation mark, indeed - last I heard it was terminally doomed.

Feel free to pop in for a cuppa if you're passing Stalham.

By that logic I'm a preserved brake van.

I love Norfolk. Many family holidays were spent there, Ludham and Sea Palling and Acle and stuff. I lived in Norwich as a dirty stoodent too and we used to just all pile into my housemate's Nova saloon and head off to the coast.

I hope that Astracraft is a 1.4SPi.

There was a girl telling the world a few years back about how she was equipped with two vaginas. Typical of today's profligate youth, she revealed that she had tried both of them. I'm sure that in my day she'd have kept a fanny in reserve in case the other wore out.

I think she is a friend of a friend.

me and my mate were in the pub when this girl comes over to talk to him and I'm sure I heard the bar man saying "who's that girl over there with a pair of c###s?".

I was walking through the Abbey ruins in B.S.E yesterday when I heard a sound similar to a large apple falling from a tree.

Investigating the grounds by the nearest tree, I spied a pigeon, apparently in it's death throes and after rolling onto it's back, (the pigeon that is, not me) it appeared to expire.

Being nosy I crouched down to look at the poor bugger. It had what looked like a stone wedged in it's beak. I thought I'd try and pull the stone out so did, twas actually a 3 inch piece of tree, as thick as my thumb, it'd swallowed.

I lay the lifeless* pigeon, breast down, on my palm and rubbed it's back firmly with t'other hand. After about 20 seconds of this, it's left wing twitched, then it's head twitched and then it was back in the land of the living.

After convalescing on my hand for a minute or so, the pigeon chose not to take up residence on my shoulder but hopped off and flew away.

Yesterday I learned pigeons aren't interested in piracy but could embarrass Heather Brook with their "abilities". Almost.

Take the bike and ride over Incleborough hill near West Runton - Norfolk's highest hill.  It's a bit, "Was that it?" but the countryside's still lovely.

I had not heard of Heather Brooke so I did a quick internet search to see who she was.

I don't really feel like eating the baguette I made for lunch any more.

My parents used to live in West Runton! Their house backed onto a hill with a wooded path, so will have a bash at that as I plan on taking an old mountain bike and having a few early morning ride outs. I might get the steam train to Holt and ride back too, cheers.
