What makes you grin? Antidote to grumpy thread

Well, I'm off to Brussels tomorrow for a week, then to Turkey to see family and a possible Lady_Sterling, then back to Brussels for a few weeks so myself and FATAH_Sterling can get on each other nerves, then to the UK at some point in August where some RED HOT Rover 827 Coupe ACTION will be had, then probably back to France via Brussels (again)

Did I mention I'm going to Brussels?

Not quite sure WTF was going on here, but I found it when I was clearing out the boot of the Jag yesterday.

^ That's fabulous! The cost in jubilee clips alone must be more than the cost of a replacement hose.

Sitting in a month old hotel at Glasgow quay. Forgot how big and how pretty this city is. Coach's left some pretty impressive scuffs on the new Tarmac too! Oops.

Let the record show that has nothing to do with me or my old Jag! An old boy who works in one of the units near me was admiring the Jag and said he had some bits lying around from one he had-next day he comes in with a bin liner ful of gubbins which I stuck in the boot and forgot about. This fine piece of engineering was amongst that gubbins.

I'd have used zip ties...

There must be more monies worth of jubilee clips there than the cost of the pipe. Unless it's from an mg specialist obv

Just scored 10 Mann oil filters for the Accord for £22.50 delivered. When I proudly informed my wife that's the next 5 years of oil changes sorted, she gave me one of 'those looks'.

Another member of this fine forum whom I have never met offers me kindness and hospitality.

I love this place.

Big thanks Mo_Sterling, you're a true gent.

Shame I've got to work tomorrow and I'll be heading back down South by 12.

Been down in Surrey for a couple of days helping a mate with his haymaking. He also hires trailers out for film work and needed to do a delivery last night. He took his Defender, I took his S1. Loads of fun

My garage man did me a clutch & wheelbearings + a broken ABS ring, replaced.

Today I noticed the CV Boot had split, when the ring was done [likely], and peppered the whole front end.....

Dropped by the garage and 'chatted' with Monsiure leProprietore = 4hrs later all replaced/repacked and the garage lad drove my car home, in return for me dropping him back in the works van.....

Propper Warranty, that!!  :-P

Give it a couple of weeks and even my rats will turn their noses up at it! :D

Spotted this on the A1 this morning, a 730d taxi, and, judging by what it's towing, on a collection mission...hopefully a shite collection mission! post-3066-0-40916800-1403850088_thumb.jpg

Où puis-je obtenir camembert pas cher?

Half past two on tuesday???

Sainsbury's local - out of date 'foreign' cheese is about all they're good for round these parts. ;)

Posted

I bought some foreign cheese (coming over here, lounging around on our crackers etc etc) from Sainsburys, couple of days later noticed the fridge absolutely reeked - looked at cheese and it was two days out of date when I bought it. Doh.

Tweeted Sainsburys a photo of the BBE date and the receipt, got a fivers's worth of Nectar points.

This picture is on the "legal advice regarding....neighbour" thread.

And it made me smile, so here it is. That paint and those wheels suit the shape so well.   :-) 14127506579_4e35547624_c.jpg

Mmmmmm, stinking out of date furrin cheese, yummy!

Must venture to the Sainsbury Tat Reich one of these days, it seems.

At Lidl I only get stinking out of date lettuce, which is meh.
