Today my mother took delivery of a grey A3 to fit right in with that line-up.

She thinks it's something really special.

A Logan,apparently. Logan!!!

So named because at 30,000 miles, you have to drive to the nearest dealership for regeneration. If you ignore the mileage, a team of black-leather-clad Dacia techs will hunt you down and shoot you. Fact.

Saw an old Mazda 323 on the M56 today, it had a “scrappage scheme survivor" sticker on the back and was tailgating an Audi. Class!

I mentioned recently in the GOM thread I've been having chest pains for the past year or so and with the family history of heart disease and failure I got told by people here and in the real world I should go to see my GP.  Happily, my heart is fine, which is good.

I've been told to eat better and take some time out from the stress which is slightly easier said than done but not impossible.  I'm going to deliberately do only the things I enjoy and taking a week out from work and other things that are winding me up pretty badly and see how I fare.

What!!! The new ms_Nuts bought me a pack of those last week!!! I reckon there is a good percentage of sustainably-sourced cod & delicious Maris Pipers in them. NICE

Meant to post this yesterday, but the A77 - what a fab grin-inducing road in the early evening sunshine. I really must explore the West Coast of Scotland some more.

In an internet argument (elsewhere) with a priceless troll I got 'I've got a big house in the sticks and a BMW' as a serious retort. who said you shouldn't mock the afflicted?

Stress. Very personal but can be extremely harmful! Been there and got the medal etc. Both me and Mrs Beard have suffered from stress and panic attacks in the past..

Zen tactics and mindfulness does work. Live in the moment. Live for now etc.

There's far better than the A77 down there, I grew up beside it. A713 from Ayr to Dumfries, A719 coast road from Maybole up to Ayr to name but two. A77 is a pain these days cos of all the cameras.

Parking Wars on BBC1 now.

Driving instructor gets pulled by bailiffs because of hundreds of pounds worth of unpaid parking tickets.

Driving instructor has a lass driving, on her way to her test.

He has car seized, she goes mental at him. He then pulls two screwdrivers and a kitchen knife out of the car, she goes even more mental at him, he waves the knife at the bailiff explaining "it's a tool of his trade" and gets arrested. What a numpty!

The Cortina sailed* through it's MOT today, AND I had the moggy running for the first time since I bought it last August. True, it ran out of petrol after about 30 seconds and then wouldn't start again as the fuel pump had died (again), but it did run...

*Had advisories on low parking brake one side, front No. plate and lack of rear bumper end caps.

That Sapporo seems pretty reasonable. For some reason Mitsubishi always seem to be cheaper than their contemporary Japanese rivals. If that was a Violet or  Bluebird coupe or a Celica it'd be worth more than double. Odd. It seems the only old Mits that make any money are Lancer turbos.

Google have added a time travelling function to Streetview so you can view the old images, which is really excellent. The oldest stretch back to about 2008.

A bit in our local rag yesterday.

Man is fitting his Hillman Imp with  Subaru 2500cc engine.

WHY ?

Because everyone said it could not be done.

I noticed in the pic of the elderly looking fellow that there was a Rover P6 behind him.

Apparently he has the skills to do it and has done several restorations prior to this.

No pics from me as something in my system is stopping all links :-(
