Managed to get standing rickets for Carter Usms last evah gig. Their presale ones had sold out but thanks to o2 priorities I managed to get 4 downstairs. Very very happy.

Wow I remember seeing Carter in 93 at the old Birmingham Academy. Just before Christmas I saw the GR9 line up of Jesus Jones, PWEI and the Wonderstuff for a perfect evening of early 90's gigging.

So, AA membership went up in price as I thought it might.  Gave them a call to find I have to have silver membership, because that's how it is, but that the only reason for the price rise from £8 to £12.61 was the introductory offers when I signed up as a new member.  I'm not entirely sure how I did it, but I got to keep the silver membership with the benefits I don't need and reduced the payments to £9.61 which is low enough for me to be happy to stick with the AA for another year, especially since they were so good at getting me home when I had the OMGHGF last year.

I don't own and probably never will own a Daihatsu Compagno, but I do own an owner's manual as of this week. Never expected to find one in Holland, previous owner didn't know how or where he found it though.

Firstly, there's the "VAG products are galvy" thing:

Then there's this mileage:

and finally this mileage, ignore the digit:

Lucky bleeder! I didn't get into Carter until a couple of years back, a driver at work has seen them numerous times and said they're class live. I've pretty much worn out both 'You Fat Bastard' CDs in my car now, pretty much play them on continual loop.

Funnily enough, I was looking at some pics from Japan Classic Sunday earlier (I might come over for it this year) and there was a Compagno there... do you know if that's an original Dutch car or imported later?

It was imported later but it had fake plates then so I never found out if it was actually registered here. I think it lives in Switzerland now after being for sale for 15k euro for a while.

Found a handbrake cable for the Stellar on eBay, so avoiding the 3-4 month delivery time on one from Korea :-) It was listed for the later models but I asked the seller for a picture and I'm 99% sure it'll be a straight fitment; even if not I'll be able to modify something to suit. Best bit - only £12 delivered!

Remembering your photo, I looked at my odometer when I got in the car this morning.

I missed it by one day! :( The trip meter reading 123 was pure coincidence.

Got the XM's cold start issue fixed and the independent asked me if a sidelight lens would be any use to me - you bet, especially as it is the side I need and all for a tenner still in its unopened Citroen box. All fitted and looking lovely!

I made a rather throwaway comment before work this morning in Corsaviour's new Corsa thread (Morrissey content) in which I said the car would be 'the first of the gang to die'.

Well, bugger me if I put Radio 2 on at work and said song is playing.

Marvellous!

Dear Jim,

Please can you paint for me a picture of Ed Miliband wearing the wrong trousers walking down James Turner Street being whipped by Jo Brand in erotic lingerie shooting rainbow laser beams out her nipples and cliff Richard in a Lacoste tracksuit drinking Skol Super with White Dee.

Cheers,

Oh yes, has me in stitches most of the time. I did once request a scene involving Yvette Fielding, Roland from Grange Hill and a Citroen BX, but he didn't do it. :-(

I bought my brother a Jim`'ll Paint It T shirt for Christmas (Brian Blessed drinking White Lightning while riding a Henry Hoover) which he proceeded to wear to the Ashes Test in Sydney. It was a big hit with the Barmy Army but confused the hell out of the Aussies.

Theres some really wierd and fucked up shit going on there. Do like.

Going to work, put R2 on and 'First In The Gang To Die' by The Smiths came on. I promptly crashed into a hedge and wrote my car off.

Thought did go thru my mind that having a dash cam would have been most useful if I had clonked him.

Commentary win!

I'm delighted that I had just enough black wool left to finish the front seat covers for the Princess.  I'll get some pictures tomorrow of them in the car.  Now just to crochet and sew together about eleventy billion and four squares for the rear seat cover.
