I've had another think about this eating humans malarkey and have decided I would like to nibble on Cameron Diaz's beef curtains.

The Visa failed its MOT today. However this goes on the grin thread as it only failed on lights.

I knew it was going to fail on the side repeater as its borked. I had ordered a new one from Mister Auto but they decided to text me at 4.14am one morning to tell me that they were not sending me it as it wasn't in stock. This seems to be a common problem for them as they have returned two orders in the last month. IF YOU DON'T HAVE IT DON'T LIST IT! So if anyone can advise me where to find one of these:

It would be appreciated.

Apparently the headlamp aim is WAY out. They even suggested that they might be set up for foreign driving but I think that after it had a crash someone has put the bulbs the wrong way round so I will have to figure out the right way to put them in at the weekend.

But other than that it was okay. There was something about a sidelight not coming on when the engines off and some advisories on the tyres and the CV boots but can sort them shortly. All in all it was a result and will get it in for the retest next week methinks.

I have just finished the Bubblecars picture and I'm allowing myself to be proud of it.  Just got to leave it overnight to dry properly so I can scan it.

EDIT:  actually here, have a sneak photograph of it.

The last item I am ever ever ever going to sell on Evilbay went AWOL in the post, months of frustrating GPO paperwork later four envelops arrived at the same time,

1/ a cheque for a full refund

2/ a cheque for a full refund

3/ a cheque for a full refund

4/ a letter explaining why I am not entitled to a full refund.

also each had a different claim reference number.

I've discovered if you really nail a 1.0 Corsa, it doesn't half go. It sort of gets to the point you'd expect a rev limiter to kick in, then gathers it's loin in and starts going a bit more. I think I surprised quite a few people (myself) included on the A51 this afternoon.

Visa headlamp aim is WAY out.

Prolly worth checking that the light hasn't popped out of one of its ball'n'socket mountings. I had this once, may have been on the BX. It puts the aim properly off-track, and beyond adjustment. A well judged shove from the front had it re-located. Re-adjustment will be required, natch.

HTH.

Check Visa bulb is correct one, seated correctly if miles out.

I've had this with a BX actually. I'd hurriedly fitted a bulb, but hadn't fitted it properly. Was horrifically out.

I appear to have saved a pair of Renault 6 wings from being chucked in a skip thanks to shiter... Mr Lobster I think.

I seem to remember from driving one that they develop all their 50 brake between 5000 and 5001 rpm, you probably hit the power* band.

Yeah, I used to drive the ex-MILs threepot corsa and it loved to rev. It didn't have a great deal of options with me at the controls but it's a buzzy little thing.

Bonus points if they're neither pale green nor metallic blue.
