I love them for the back window. Not sure if it has any benefits but is different and very funky!

C6 are bloody fantastic, a real replacement for the CX, but Jeezus seriously complicated and blinkin huge, i'd love one but the V6 Diesel goes into the near on £500VED bracket, they do a 2.2 Diesel version with full proper auto box which slips in @ £280 VED.

Yes full hydraulic suspenders, which is great on the open road but a surprisingly jiggly at low speed on pot holes etc, interior nothing short of fantastic, what spoils it though is its got the devils own electric parking brake, and i ain't having one of those buggers and thats that.

Sounds like my XM that does! Think I'll stick with that!

Looking at it again though, it doesnt look that big. Would go get the XM and park it next to it but I'd loose my space in our car park then get told off for parking in someone elses car park, and have to park miles away... Plus estate/saloon isnt a fair comparison anyway

Seeing a couple easily in their 80s walking down a road hand in hand smiling, I love seeing things like this

Setting off at 5 am tomorrow for three weeks in Malaysia. Looking forward to spotting/photographing loads of interesting old chod still in daily use. 1960's Landrovers running on palm oil, J reg Protons etc. Will be hiring a car to drive from Langkawi to Kuala Lumpur so should make for some interesting 'road trip' style chod spotting amongst the mopeds and new Protons.

I've been looking at getting a Citroen DS5 for my new car. Going for a test drive next weekend.

They're not C6 bonkers looking but I like them and they're a bit different from the usual crop of german stuff.

The only thing i'm a bit concerned about is the windscreen is really pillar boxy.

The interiors are nice

When I was very young and I REALLY wanted something unadvisable my grandma used to say "yes love, of course. Now lets come back tomorrow and see if you still want it"

I never did.

I cant wait to buy one of those in 10 years for £650 and play 'find the working electrical component...'. Imagine if that centre screen goes all shit like the LCD displays on XM's do!

Does look 'Citroney' though, well, as much as is possible to nowadays. That a pillar looks horrible though

The DS5 is utter shit. Citroen 'loaned' us one at La Vie en Bleu last year. EVERYONE who got into it clobbered their head on the top of the door opening. Rear visibility is akin to a Lambo Countach, with the rear wiper seemingly modelled on a Volvo 740 headlamp wiper. It's about as attractive as Mr Blobby in leggings and my overall conclusion was that I'd rather be given an all over body massage by Edward Scissorhands than consider driving one.

I like it. We're all different etc and to be fair it was always going to be as welcome as a cat shit in a ball pool at a vintage french car event.

The previous couple of cars I got didn't even test drive them as I knew they'd be okay. I can't say that about this I really need to try it.

My mate was going got get one of them new Alfa Guilettas and he was totally sold on it until he drove it and realised it was shit.

Quite fancied an Octavia VRS but there's a 16 week waiting list for one so they can jam that up their arse.

I don't want to turn this into a pistonheads convesation I just mentioned it as Beko had posted that C6.

The DS5 interior looks very Star Wars, modern and interesting. Future reliability aside, actually seeing out if it may prove irksome. Fine if driving in outer space to avoid planets but tricky on the A50* in the rain.

*Other roads may be available.

That DS5 interior looks quite good. If you're in the market for such a thing and need to buy new then it's got to be worth considering against the German equivalents or any of that crossover nonsense.

I like the look of that Citroen, the interior looks really nice although i can see that the A post would piss me off, rather worryingly I also like the look of the new Peugeot 308 now that the have done away with that bloody awful looking front grill.

Old school Autoshiters read the above and sob quietly into their real ale.

Looks wise Pug have finally got their act together... Shame it has taken them a decade. The 308 and 508 are good looking cars, that said all the 508s seem to have disappeared of late so they've probably already exploded thanks to gallic electrical mayhem or somesuch.

It's taken me a little while to work out what it was since getting back but I spotted a bright yellow Midas Cortez on the way back from the PO.  On the open road they're so tiny, the Corsa (or is it Rover 100?) headlights look too big for them!

Imagine this in bright yellow and very shiny and you've got the motor in question.

I've just turned the boost up to "full" on the Storia. It makes lots of nice noises, goes quite well and makes me grin lots.

That's like the automotive equivalent of those unfortunate individuals that are so massively disfigured (or obese) you have to force yourself not to stare at them in horrified amazement when you see them in the street.

So if I travel 100 miles and I'm getting 0.0 mpg I wonder how many gallons of fuel i'd use??

I've forgotten how great this thing is to drive. Selling it depresses me somewhat so I might only make a half arsed attempt to sell it.

Coming back from work tonight and there was normal goat molester doing 40mph on a clear a-road with a queue of hapless motorist stuck behind them.

No problem, into sports mode ghaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Over take complete

A few pints down, and it's going well. He seems like a nice bloke but as yet, no mention of a treasure trove of rusty old chod hidden away in various barns and lock-ups. MUST TRY HARDER NEW DAD.

Wow! Good luck Alex, glad you get to meet your Dad. Hopefully this'll be the start of a lifelong friendship and a load of catching up.

Yes, best of luck.

Today's good news from 'whatevermynewusernameistowers'  is that I'm a 'non-essential' at work, so when something went wrong I got to go home early: C U L8R, SUCKERS!
