^ That guys living my dream.

For the last few weeks Mrs T has been keeping very quiet about where she's taking me for my birthday for a few days, Now that day has arrived I've mangaed to get out of her where we are going, I'm off to Brooklands Motor museum in the morning, as well as Hampton Palace Court and Whipsnade Zoo.

Not sure about Hampton Palace but looking forwards to Brooklands and a few days away, I better get to bed, early start in the morning!

"DO NOT PUT ON KNOB AND BOLLOCKS" a review of: Veet for Men Hair Removal Gel...

This review is from: Veet for Men Hair Removal Gel Creme 200ml (Personal Care)

Being a loose cannon who does not play by the rules the first thing I did was ignore the warning and smear this all over my knob and bollocks. The bollocks I knew and loved are gone now. In their place is a maroon coloured bag of agony which sends stabs of pain up my body every time it grazes against my thigh or an article of clothing. I am suffering so that you don't have to. Heed my lesson. DO NOT PUT ON KNOB AND BOLLOCKS.

(I am giving this product a 5 because despite the fact that I think my bollocks might fall off, they are now completely hairless.)

Thanks Tayne, that looks like a great road to drive alone, like I did in Italy with the 'scary' mountain roads... Went for a drive alone there and ended up taking a very old lady to her home in a tiny village at the end of the road, she came from the doctor in town, missed her bus and just stopped me and got in before I could say anything (I did speak a few words in Italian but it takes time to think of the right ones...).

Michiel, we're expecting to move in the middle of September, so perhaps a little detour south of the border towards the end of your trip? I can have the kettle on, although it's unlikely my shite will have landed by the time you do. Unless Tayne leaves me a Pontiac, obviously...

Cheers Eddy, don't know if boss lady approves of visits to shiters, but I will try!

This may well end in the 'grumpy' thread but I'm doing my best not to post in there again:

Had (hopefully) my last fag last night about 11.00. Got some Nicotine patches, an e-fag and some chongs* and I'm going to make a concerted effort to keep off the bastarding things.

Last few times I gave up I found the first two day were the hardest and then about a fortnight afterwards I was fine, I've just got to keep it up. Having relapsed a few times I know how sodding easy it is to get back into it so I'm trying to stay chilled and take one day at a time and if I do go back on them then I do go back on them.

Stay off the beer! I always found it to weaken resolve. I tried to use the gum and e-fag only when the nicotine withdrawal was rampant rather than to keep it away all together, it seemed to work. As you say, it does get easier.

Stay off the beer? I'd rather insert my blue veined piccolo into a hungry alligator's mouth at Chester zoo thanks.

Good luck with it Billy. There comes a day when your brain just switches and you suddenly realise that you're a non-smoker. Driving was the biggest challenge for me, as smoking had become a routine part of it. Perhaps put the fag money to one side for a future shite-related treat?

Best of luck Billy,

I stopped a few years ago after a long train journey up north with the kids. The enforced break of a few hours without a fag turned into a few days quite easily for being away from the usual routine and freinds who smoked. I did avoid the pub for a bit though and stopped inviting people round the house who I knew would spend thier visit on the doorstep with a tab.

One of my mates was an inveterate "smoker" (Silk Cut, hardly counts) and he went through 60/70 a day. What got him stopped, was, bizarrely, burning one of the seats in his Rangie. He stopped smoking in the car, and gradually stopped altogether. He stayed off the pop for about 6 or 7 weeks too, and said it definitely helped in the process.

This morning's grin - I was asked to go to our nearby Happy Clappy church to set up an unfeasibly complex digital projector system. I simplified it, took out about 3 miles of unnecessary cabling and other boxes etc. Job jobbed, fat cheque in the skyrocket. This group of folks are all successful business persons, one of whom was on the Sunday Times rich list a couple of years ago. Accordingly, the car park has a lot of flash motors.

SL, SLK, Jag XK, SLK, S Class, Mark 1 FIESTA!

No pic as I forgot my phone  . It was a minty 1.1GL circa 78/79.

Good luck Billy, as a 3 x relapser, i know how hard it is....must try again soon...(reaches for chuffs)....

Ta gents. Sick of not being able to breathe at night and smoking out of boredom which is effing stupid.

Good plan Ian, if I can save enough to get a second hand fuel pump for the Audi I'll be well happy.

1) Got given a free microwave

2) After about 2 years, finally sorted the sound card on my PC (£15 and a 10 minute job)

3) Figuring out how to sew a button back on. Who needs a girlfriend?

4) Provincial Post Offices who start talking about my Bluebird as soon as I walked in

5) 3000 posts!

Music, popcorn and buttons? Sounds like an excelling combination to me!

I'll not wish good luck to you Billy, as you've already had the luck - you stopped. You're now a winner, not a smoker. Good change!

To anyone else who feels like a good brainwashing, I and others on here have mentioned this chap before:

I know I was only smoking for a decade (hardly counts) but I read it for a laugh and haven't smoked since.

As i said last night, today being my 32nd birthday, Mrs T's took me to the Brooklands museum today for the first time, i really enjoyed it, it was much larger then i expected with the plane and bus museums as well.

The 1933 Rapier-Railton is a stunning piece of history, what a car!, the Concorde experience is worth paying extra for too.

There was a brown V reg Allegro and a G reg Maestro VDP in the car park next door which was also a highlight!.

After there we went to Mercedes World next door which is free to get in, it's a bit posh for the average autoshiter but it's nice to seat in a AMG Merc and see how bland the interior is and how hard and uncomfortable the seats are, lots of classic Mercs to look at though and the test track is fun to watch the rich folk spin around in.

Staying in a B&B in Walton on Thames now for a few nights as well which seems a posh place to live.

The shite in the car park next door is mine! I work on that estate.

Find yourself a nice river pub for the evening, the weir in Walton is a good one

Hey Trig - did you see all that airline related chod lying about like a BOAC HA van?

Plus the thing that used to be in Seth's avatar, a runway snow blaster which was an old jet engine directed downwards mounted on wheels, with the crappest cab ever which looked like a potting shed?

Had pictures published.

Congrats on that one.

Nice one Jon, now spill the beans!

I thought that Allegro was familiar! I did get a over the hedge photo of it!.

Yes the Bedford HA van was there, as well as a Bedford CA and a couple of Moggy Minors, i missed the snow plough though i think.

P.S I've never seem as many Mercs as there are here in Walton on Thames!

Provincial Post Offices who start talking about my Bluebird as soon as I walked in!

Yeah you gotta love them, I went to the main post office for the stamps for the dealer sticker, when I asked for 150 stamps the desk drone made a face like a cat's arsehole at me and said I couldn't have that many, so I jumped in the car, 3 miles out of town and got as many stamps as I wanted.

I mean who are they saving them for? Surely my money is as good as any one elses? [/wanders to the grumble thread]
