I really miss Gideon in the mornings. :(

Oddly enough, the last time I could regularly listen to music radio it was when BBC6's line-up was Phil Jupitus followed by Gideon Coe.

The fact that one of those 'know it alls' at college attempted to repair his rusty fuel tank the other day and made it worse did make me laugh.

Same here. I could just about handle Keaveny but George Lamb was the last straw.

Driving the Charmant.Seems like no matter what I drive, I can go back to the Charmant and enjoy it more.

MG ZT 260s. One came past me at full chat while I was walking back from work this evening. Gorgeous - makes an AMG Merc sound synthetic.

Had an Audi R8 come tearing past me on the A1 tonight. They may have hint of 'wanker chariot' about them but by golly to they make the right noises! Proper V8 rasp to 'em.But today my BX is making me smile. It cost £266 back in September, I still haven't had to renew tax nor MoT, I've probably spent £400 on tyres, servicing and parts and roughly £970 on fuel in 9500 miles. The insurance was free (added to my classic policy) so I make it that the car has cost me 17p per mile, including purchase price.*On top of this, it's great fun to drive with precise steering, tidy handling and a supremely comfortable ride. I've driven it all the way around France, into Spain, Luxumbourg, Belgium and Switzerland and up to Scotland. I still love it and that's very impressive for any car I've driven more than 6000 miles in. The only other contenders are my 2CV (obviously), a Daewoo Matiz (18k) and my old Peugeot 306 Dturbo (40k).*rather unfairly, I'm not including the price of the upcoming service on Tuesday which is actually about 1500 miles late...

Had one in stock for a couple of weeks in 2008. Black ZT-T 260 estate. Absolutely superb thing, I couldn't afford it 'for me' but I've promised myself I will own an identical one soon as possible. I was sad enough to even record it when wellying it down a motorway sliproad (Clicky to hear dodgy, phone recorded MP3). What a sound. Bloke in the Scottish Borders bought it, I delivered it for free.

Ace car, probably my favourite 'me' car of anything I've ever driven, so it's got some tough competition. Felt like it was over-engineered to death mechanically, a really tough feel which I didn't expect. Everything was heavy but felt like it would survive a nuke and not too heavy to make driving it a chore. Clutch could get a bit irritating in traffic, but it'd pull 3th gear from standstill at idle - an easy mistake to make. 3rd does pretty much all you need in one of these anyway, 10 mph trundling round town or hooning down lanes at 90. Another 100 bhp would make it absolutely perfect, and that's dead easy with the Mustang lump.

Saw a 260 saloon c/w blue parking disc in the disabled bays outside Sainsbury in Norwich a few weeks ago. Really old giffer hobbled up to it and took about 5 minutes to get himself into it. Just knew he'd had XJ-S's and Jensens all his life.

Smokes like a Diesel, look how black the bumper is above the exhaust.

The ZT260s are great. I'm a fan of the normal ZTs anyway and happy with FWD, they're just a little slow.Saw a Rover 75 V8 a while back, very stealthy.

Fantastic day out.If at first you don't suceed use second gear

The steering felt strange on the drive home so I pulled up in a layby and had a look underneath.Hmmm, one bent track control arm

Removing it tomorrow and using the tow-bar as a fulcrum I will try and straighten it...20 year old Discoverys are great in the mud
