Also last night was the latest Southern Old School meet. As always, an awesome turnout coupled with no natural light to take a decent photo

Couple of observations:

1) Your Bluebird looks class and the wheels are brilliant.

2) That black Merc looks fantastic.

Passed two kids on bikes on my way home, with one set of bike-lights between them, but no mounting brackets. The kid on the first bike held the headlamp, the kid following held the red tail-lamp behind him so as to be seen by motorists.

I laughed heartily, and was so impressed I made an extra effort not to knock them both down.

Why thank you, but I do still need to get around the offset issue as it desperately needs lowering. The Merc is lovely, and what you can't see in the pictures is the bright red interior.

Also nice to go to a local modified meet that isn't full of Corsas and rat look e36 coupes.Among other cars that I didn't get a picture of was a Ford Popular, Minor and Austin A30. There was even a Diablo of all things, except it parked in the pitch black so taking a photo was impossible

I managed to get hold of a pair of cheap tickets on facebook to see The Straits tonight here in Ipswich, The Straits are (most) the band from Dire Straits, Of course

Mark Knopfler wasn't singing as he's split but the new stand in singer Terence Reis was amazing, he played and sounded just like him without trying to be him, there's still 2 former members left Alan Clark and Chris White, all of whom are amazing at what they play, Clark on the keyboards and White on the Sax and Tambourine, Real legends.

Honestly they were totally amazing and if you like Dire Straits and they are playing near you i really recommend going to see them, Brothers in arms was something to kill for!

Have been reflecing/reminiscing about all the old motors I used to own today - had a few good ones, all mostly scrapped now sadly.

I would love to trace a car I used to have. I sold it through eBay a couple of years ago, not sold with a buy it now so there's no record of it on my account. Have checked the DVLA database and it's been unlicensed since August this year :-( how can I find out where it is now legally if you know what I mean? Car was a silver Astra Mk4 - W908 WJX, sold to a guy in South Wales I think. Had black wheels and a Irmscher bodykit on amongst other things.

According to Askmid...

YES W908WJX IS showing as insured on the Motor Insurance Database today
so it looks hopeful, God knows how you trace it though.

Why the breakdown cover? Just pay SC off with old lutes and fuzz pedals.

UK & European breakdown cover is free

There's millions of them big lanky spiders here cos it's been so wet. Kate saw one, she closed one eye and lobbed one of my trainers at it. SPLAT! 1x spider, stood down! Then she just hit resume for EastEnders. I Think I'm dating Lara Croft, except Kate is far better looking, of course!

As an aside, do you frequently get out of the border area, mate? Would enjoy a Scimmie adventure story.

with petrol at 6 quid a gallon, and the scimitar giving 13-15 MPG, i sold it on. Im currently slimming down my tat, to concentrate on getting the zephyr fixed and roadworthy for next spring. Hopefully the zephyr world tour will continue, i didnt get any further than Scotland last time......

Been reading this.

Last night before I went to bed, ensured that i had proper strange dreams. Like the internet I have been self diagnosing and realised whilst I might have some tendencies I am not a Pyscho.

Reason for grin .. .I had forgotten what a good book was like. I had gotten so used to mediocre life filling rubbish it was great to read one that got the brain ticking..

Just picked up World Racing 2 from CEX for 2 quid. A fun-filled evening of driving virtual Dacia 1310s beckons... :D
