there are some basic/small/light mobiles.

This is my back-up phone. It's really light (80 grams) and only cost 25 Euros. You can listen to radio or music on it (sticking a micro SD card in), and it can take two sims so that you don't have to mess about with changing them when travelling. Sorry about the pic size- couldn't find many on the google images.

If you fancy something really really basic, you have to pay more for it!!product_snow.jpg. 69 Euros.

Quite like the look of that and very much like the price - where did you get that? As you price it in € then Ireland perhaps? ZTE don't seem to have much in the way of sales going on in the UK at thee moment. The "Blade" looks good but probably pricey.

I could do with something to replace my HTC ancient Blackberry clone, free from BT.

My wife could do with that big button Motorola - she's legally blind and has great difficulty with most phones and even her laptop. I did buy her a Motorola with a large display but she couldn't get to grips with it.

Sorry for the delay, pm just sent ref. the above.

Many thanks, PM replied to, that looks just the ticket as long as her phone is compatible :)

I'm so excited I might die. My mum went on to take the piss out of me cos when I was quite small they were my favourite car. That and renault 14s. I reckon I had taste, but there you go.

In fairness if I ever had a Strada (as if. :( ) I'd badge it up as a Ritmo if I could ever get the badges. 8)

Use Blutak as anything stronger will see your finger go straight through the bodywork.

It's a shame they rotted like buggery, they still have a sort of timeless style and charm about them.

Today one of my old work mates called me telling me that he had some car bits i might be interested in, He buys stuff from auctions to sell at boot sales and anything car related in the boxes he give to me, this is what i collected today, all for free.

This was it.

A set of 50's Ford paperwork, A instrction book for a Zephyr Six, A Ford Warranty form, A free service voucher and a running in guide and repair schedule for a Consul Mk1 and Zephyr Six.

The next lot was a Viva HA handbook from 1966, a Halford cataloge from 1961, a intresting set of service cards for a Viva HB by Jack Brabham, like a Top Trumps set of cards, The I-Spy Car Numbers book from around 1968, I had this as a kid, It's nice to see it again, this ones got a cover and is unwritten though, unlike my old one, and drivers handbook from the T.R.T.A again from the 60's.

Next was this RAC welcome pack, The badges are missing but it comes with the paperwork and some of the lastest maps, Intrestingly there was a unopened envolope inside which i opened  This had a brand new unused RAC sticker (still sticky) and a reciped for it dated 1970.

and lastly was this lot, two copies of Car Mechains from 1959 and 1966, some repair advice disc, a MPG disc, some lots of car buying advice pages from 1960 telling what to pay and look =for when buying a secondhand car. (A 1948 Jaguar 1 1/2 Saloon was £200!)

Would you consider flogging the I-Spy Car Numbers book..?

I might but not just yet, The book in fact makes good reading, I'll just go through some of the number plates that feature in the book.

IT7 was one the first, It's photoed on a vintage car, Now it's on a 1998 Merc 320 SL, MAD1 was on a Aston martin DB5, now it's on a Merc E320 CDi., AA1 used to be on a Charer Lea Combination which was a motorcycle and sidecar used by the AA as one of the very first road assistance vehicles in the 1920's, now it's on a 1905 Renault Megane??

KV7 was on a Volvo Amazon Estae, now it's on a Ford Focus Zetec, RAD10 used to belong to radio commentator Bob Davers-Walker (who?) on his early Lotus Elan, he also owned TV1, RAD10 is now on a Kai Carens and TV1 is nolong on the database.

And DR3000 was on a Jag E-Type, now it's on a 1969 MGC GT.

The Proms.

I'm no musical fan by any means but it's different and the orchestra look to be having a laugh playing it.

A tenner tip from a customer today plus £500 tax free from work sometime next week for doing something I wasn't happy having to but it's done and if I get sacked down the line at least my conscience is clear.

Posted

went to Proms last night and it was awesome. Sadly although the say they are music lovers I was the only wearer of a Carter USM T shirt in the place...

the Soloists encore was a Lady Gaga cover!

Went to do a bit of online shopping, was presented with this. Was going to buy some odds'n'ends, but recovered from unexpected laughter long enough, to wonder if they were insinuating that my car's as rotten as a pear...

Being overtaken on the A11 just south of Snetterton by a tidy K-plate Safrane, which must have been doing at least the ton. There was actually a reasonable amount of tat on the roads today, including a nice original late Mk1 Golf, a scruffy diesel Xantia pulling an enormous speedboat, an immaculate D-plate Corolla 3-door, a tidy GT6 and a spottless Sid'n'Doris owned D-reg Saab 900i in metallic grey, and a Y-plate povo-spec Sierra (dangly mirrors and all) in a dismal shade of dark blue / turquoise, going the other way through Elveden Forest. I also saw a wide-body (quad headlight) Routemaster going the opposite way on the M11, doing what looked like substantially more than the 37mph its London Transport cousins were capable of.

Posted

Had to buzz into London today, on the way home the M1 was fairly clear and was able to maintain 85, nice apart from some jerk in a Jap estate car hanging off my arse, wouldn't just piss off and pass, if I slowed he would slow, when I accelerate he would maintain the 20 thou braking distance. My car must also have been finding the jerks behaviour tiresome as its exhaust began spitting out a lovely plume of filthy black fibreglass shit all over the tosser, I love that car.
