You know my courtesy Sandero?

The one that's two months old?

Indicators packed up on the way home.

That's Clio provenance for you!

Try pulling out and waggling the hazard light switch, or rattling the stalk about

And you were singing it's praises earlier... Ah wait, no you weren't!

Hang on, you touched my Dacia and now it doesn't work!

HE'S CURSED! CURSED!

Oh, the switch works. All offside indicators are dead, but the light on the dash flashes double time. Nearside works fine.

The irony of being stuck with a non-indicating courtesy car whilst my BMW is in for a service is not lost on me.

Handed in my notice today due to impending job change. Oddly timed well as my pay was going to be coming down slightly, now not a worry. My new job has something like 8 weeks of training though....yikes.

Exciting stuff.

This is all good. Any company that invests 8 weeks worth of training is much less likely to kick you out when the chips are down as it will cost them a fortune to retrain someone else when it picks up again.

Latest issue of Retro Japanese is making me smile. That's our eighth issue done, and I got given complete free rein. Hirst talks about the Subaru Legacy, Ratdat talks about the surprising number of Nissan N12 Pulsar/Cherry spin-offs and I drive a peach of a Honda Civic second-gen. And a Nissan President. And a Datsun Fairlady 1500 that was sold new in Rhodesia. Happy times! I also compared my Honda with a Nissan Cube.

It's on sale 15th December. If it sells well, despite this motley collection of non-commercial motors, I'll be thrilled. We even had a Daihatsu Sportrak buyer's guide FFS!

What’s a Nissan president?

Made redundant last week, but it means I'm officially employed until the end of the month, then get paid my notice, then get some more on top for being a good boy and agreeing to it without a fight.

Time off just before Christmas, and sufficient money to fund starting a business/compensate for changing career and starting from the bottom again/allow me to have an extended period off. WCPGW?

It also means the company car goes back, so I can drive something less bland.

Am I the only one who immediately thought of this?

Boss at work says he's been bought one for Xmas and can't make it work on his new telly. Said I'd see with mine and all was good. Couldn't find the rest of my games though. Jr. Pac-man, bit poo!

Yeah I've got a wooden VCS as well it's just he's got a junior so I was making sure it would do the same.

I don't have many games and god knows where they've got to. Of course I managed to find games for the 400, 7800 and intellivision but sod all 2600.

Ok. For some reason, if I just paste the URL, it doesn't work. However, if you now click Click Here, it should work. Odd.

Currently sat in Veliko Tarnova city park watching the Christmas decorations to up in prep for the festival

Having a cracking hot chocolate with cream and people watching as the locals deal with the weather....

This time last year we were under half a metre of snow and the Mrs was stuck in Romania due to closed roads

We had our 1st good frost last night

Colder here, we don't get above freezing over the weekend and we are near the coast.

I'm the only person in the office this afternoon, so put on a spot of last.fm

Stumbled across this video featuring Noel Fielding, Nick Frost, and some prime chod complete with a dash-top portable CD player.

Posted

I've not seen Baby Driver, but I don't want to now, knowing it doesn't feature Noel Fielding and a scabby old Granada.

Somebody on AS suggested Ublock Origin.

I tried it and it's really good, better than I would have thought possible, even Youtube is watchable now! I would thank whoever it was, but I can't remember which thread it was in.

Thank you anyway!

A little light relief to an otherwise shit   day.

I run a small MOT station as a couple of you know. One of my good customers, Nene Overland, came in today with one of their specials.A Land Rover 110 double cab pick-up.The car had been lowered slightly had uprated brakes and suspension and was fitted with a Corvette 6.2 LS3 v8 engine and auto box mated to the original transfer box.Due to the auto box I had to  use the tapley meter to test the brakes which meant taking the car out.

When I came back I said to the technician "one word, MENTAL"

He replied "one word, UNNECESSARY"
