10 years married and I'm, errm, nearly 49.

My parents were young when they married, my mum was not quite 19 years old. A couple of months ago they celebrated their 51st wedding anniversary. Makes me grin anyway. Went their honeymoon in a 105E Anglia.

By Johnnie Johnson who was on the Dams Raid, got to shake his hand & thank him for everything they did too. The whole evening was spent under this listening to Mr Johnson & Martin Withers talking about the bombing raids they took part in.

Jealous jealous jealous! When all the other lads at primary school were drawing Spitfires or Phantoms or Lightnings, I was drawing Lancasters. I loved the idea of The Dam Busters.

The problem is, I'm now in love with the idea of The Dam Builders - Neart nan Gleann...

I appear to have lost the Accord coupe to the missis

Aye that happens, I got to drive the S2000 in it's place so it kinda worked out well for me.

Fitted relays to the vans headlights making a noticeable difference on dip.

Have fitted a tray to accommodate a second battery so now I just need to find some 1000w H4 and I can go out Audi intimidating

Just been skyping with an old friend from university who is now a chemistry professor at the university of Connecticut. Talking about cars (vw have just given him a new petrol vw beetle in exchange for his faked diesel one with 85k miles!) and I mentioned chasing classic cars tv prog. and Wayne Corini- he's met him a few times at local car shows! Says he's really friendly and loves to talk about the cars. Nice to know he's the same in life as on tv.

Pulled into Norton Canes services on the toll road earlier and espied the distinctive tail lights of a very 70s Cadillac.  Wasn't Eddy, though  ;)

Went out in the Crying Pumpkin and upon returning home I noticed it's fitted with that short-lived Dim-Dip system, that the EU Commission prosecuted the UK in the European Court of Justice for.

Do you wear Brexit pants? Jeepers. Give it a rest! Dim/dip was always doomed, as I don't believe you can make it work with projector headlamps. I was more sad to see the demise of yellow headlamps in France, though they were ultimately a bit shit as well.

This interview with Mark E Smith, with subtitles switched ON. Some shite scattered throughout the interview as well.

The fella is looking well* for 59.

Sorry :).  As it goes I never rated it (Dim Dip) - it used to cause a massive buzzing noise on the radio on my Mk3 Cavalier from brand new, and I thought you might as well just put the headlights on.  TBH I was a bit surprised when I found about the EU Court Action - I'm certainly not some kind of proto-Farage, I was just researching the history.  You are right, though, it was spurious to mention it.

Loads and loads of really funny bits, Spud and Sick Boy in the 1690 Protestant club, Begbie finding Spud's writing about him, etc, blah, blah. Lots of nods towards the first film, the characters and feel of the original film are just the same, lots of subtle sick humour.

The dvd will get played to death when it comes out.

The Mark E Smith video link on Newsnight when John Peel died is one of the oddest and most hilarious pieces of car-crash television I've seen.

It was great that they kept the feel, i did notice a few people in the cinema who didn't seem to get it if you know what i mean, i was chuffed they used the scene from the original where renton is running away after shoplifting and makes friends with the black sierra hatch grinning like mad

Aye, it probably does help if you're familiar with the original.

The Polish couple sitting in front of us in the cinema walked out after less than an hour.

But when you do know the original film then T2 is just pure class. Might go to see it again next week.

As moaned about on the grumpy thread I bought a Renault Laguna xenon light off eBay for £27 with the hope of using it's ballast resistor to fix the headlamp on the Cadillac. The light turned up and had a different ballast resistor to the one in the ebay advert. Plan failed.

While I was moaning on the grumpy thread Panhard65 said he had one in his loft, which he tested as working and very kindly offered to me for postage.  Meanwhile I'd complained to scrappy I'd bought it off it wasn't as per the pictures.

The next day a parcel turns up.

So Now.

HOORAY

Thanks again to panhard for digging it out and sending it to me (If you ever need one let me know I have a spare).

Glad it did the job. There must be 2 types of light unit fitted using different resistors. Typical French really probably sourcing bits from where ever they could find them. Hopefully I will never have a Laguna 2 again and will have no use for the loft full of bits I have left over from breaking them.

When you google that ballast resistor it's used in loads of stuff for pretty short periods . Lagunas, Citroen c5s and audis.

I'm glad it's fixed as I can drive it to work now in the dark.

Spotted an unregistered 80s Chevy Caprice (I think) station wagon today.

Please convince me I have no need to go and see how much it's going to be

I shouldn't really be grinning about this, but I've just got my expenses up to date! Two hours of horrible, horrible admin because I last did it in May...

I just need to try and keep on top of it now.
