Looks like it lasted until 1999.  Disappointing, I was hoping it was still lurching about somewhere full of dogs and horrifying Waitrose car parks.

205 kind of serviceable again... wife'll be furious 'cos it's got no heaters and I've left the 850 at work.95d5c867b70b00cc8bd2c9be8d8a69f4.jpg

What's the score with the no-heaters mallarky?

It has heat but no blowers. The previous owner had rigged up a spectacularly lethal looking cable setup but it appears to be capable only of blowing fuses.

i wonder what ever happened to lucinda lambton?

that is what the very, very posh lady vulgalour mentioned above. and i used to enjoy her telly programs too.

you know the penshaw monument on the A1 on the way to Newcastle, that was built to honour one of her ancestors.

the Lambton family are also the Earls of Durham.

i also like the Jonathan Meades architectural type telly programs, in the english based ones he used to drive a white Citroen XM.

Practically on our doorstep.  Used to love taking the kids to the lion park - long gone unfortunately.

Bit of a barney going on just now - Lambton Estate.

I live in Lambton Village, Washington :)

Been up at Newark vintage tractor show today. One highlight was this Fordson standard with a Perkins Prima in it!! Quite how good a high revving 2 litre turbo car engine is in a grossly low geared Fordson I've no idea.

I might have to get into tractor restoration....its one way to avoid my deep seated venemous hatred of masking things off before painting....just paint everything.

Not a lot has been making me grin lately, in fact grumpiness has been leading the pack. However, sometimes earlier this year, or even late last year, I spotted a Rover 820i outside my flat which wasn't mine. I didn't meet the owmer as it was pretty cold, but I did get a couple of pictures of the car.

Today whilst on my way to my car I spotted said same Rover this time with owner inside car. I got chatting to him and turns out he is from Birmingham but will be moving to a nearby village next month, he also has a spares car he is bringing with him. He is a fan of the Rover 800 so it'll be nice to have another Rover fan nearby.

They any good? I may have to give them a listen. Mrs Concern is awful for refusing to listen to new music. I have almost managed to get her to listen to J Mascis "Tied to a Star" which I'm really into at the moment.

This morning I was asked to try and reset the suspension ECU on a p38 rangerover. My diagnostic software said "nope" and refused to do more than just OBD.

I went back to the garage, and after 5 mins with google, 30 seconds downloading freeware and 10 mins making a cable I was good to go, went back and did the job.

I wish you had your workshop near me! I don't have a Range Rover by the way, but I'm sure your can do attitude would work as well on the XM and C4 VTS!

Quite sweary and gritty

[Verse 1]

The smell of piss is so strong

It smells like decent bacon

Kevin's getting footloose on the overspill

Under the piss-station

Two pints destroyer on the cobbled floors

No amount of whatever is gonna chirp the chip up

It's the final countdown, my fuckin' journey

I woke up with shit in my sock outside the Polish off-licence

"They don't mind" said the arsehole to the legs

You got to be cruel to be kind, shit man

Save it up like Norman Colon

Release the stench of shit grub like a giant toilet kraken

The lonely life that is touring

I got an armful of decent tunes, mate

But it's all so fuckin' boring

[Verse 2]

Tied up in Nottz, with a Z, you cunt

Black t-shirts and state toss

Nobby's nuts, the rule of rough cuts

A to Z of nothing gets all the shiz

We are real, we are lucky, 20p in the 10p mix

Crab eyes, another lonely little DJ with no fuckin' life

Weetabix, England, fuckin' shredded wheat, Kellogs cunts

On bleak shiz, on our cock, the green light don't stop

The shit homegrown dealers of Berlin begging for lolly

And it's beautiful how the privileged still let 'em in

I went to a "vinyl night" last night at a trendy little cafe, the music was fantastic and it was a brilliant evening,I'm still half deaf today and can't stop humming tunes.

I can't remember all the music but There was some electro which blurred in to 'uptown top ranking' they played the specials 'gangsters' so I gave the Dj 'lip up fatty' to follow, there was T. rex and Bowie 'queen bitch' too

Just had a call from my brother, he's clearing out a lockup unit he' s rented for 20 odd years. In a broom cupboard at the back he's just discovered loads of magazines and brochures, that we both thought were lost in a flood 15 years ago!!! These hopefully include stuff I collected 40 years ago, it's like finding buried treasure!!

Don't know what condition it's in yet, just about to go and start moving it- he seems to think it took 2 trips in a Vito to move it there!!!!!

Watch this space.

I wasn't the oldest there but I certainly wasn't the coolest.

Nobody there had hands as rough as mine, they were all a bit artsy

Ok , I've got the back of the Gaylander full and there's still at least another two loads to move tomorrow.

Seems that most of the 70's stuff was lost, as I thought. Although I'll have to wait until it's all sorted. Some of it is damp( it's not a cupboard, it's a bog!) and some damaged and trampled.

The plan is for my brother and I to be very strict and only keep stuff that's really important to us, eBay the , Scene valuable , Ford ,VW and Land Rover stuff.

That will still leave hundreds ,if not thousands of Autocars, Motors, Fast Lane, Hot Car, Performance Car ,Street Machine, Supercar Classics, Compay CAR(!!) etc, etc.

Any suggestions on how to store and distribute to the Autoshite community welcome. I'm not listing individual stuff and I'm not packaging and posting hundreds of bloody magazines - if I can store til SF17 , there could be a free for all followed by a bonfire of the leftovers.

Conor just walked past while I was playing it, and said "Hey, it's Macintosh Plus" so I asked where he knows it from and he said it's often used as backing music on Youtube for videos which are a series of still images.

I reckon it's probably that, or you heard it in a lift.

That's what they're calling Vapourwave these days but we may know as Muzak.
