I've just heard that a Jamaican paralympic medalist has confessed to not being disabled after all.

He handed his medal over to the true winner after admitting da feet.

I just found out that the copper involved in the windscreen smashing and shouting vid that is going around is called PC Savage.

With apologies to anyone from there I was amused to see Hull as the City of culture for 2017. I've killed a little time there waiting for ferries but have been to the wrong places it seems. As a Teessider I know culture when I see it! :-D

Cheeky buggers ! (As far as I know) I have no daughters, the lovely pink room was the work of the previous owners, I chose the new colour scheme all by myself, no responsible adults involved :)

I was seriously hoping that was the case!

Excellent job. We had to do similar. Pink paint is a bastard to cover.

The whole house needs decorated really but that room was by far the worst offender, so much work undoing the piss poor bodgery of the previous owners. The kitchen had a shelf that fell down when I put a jar of coffee on it, rawlplugs held in with bluetac ffs !

Our house was like that when we bought it. In a funny way I was quite amused by the bodges we found.

My favorite was the socket box in the kitchen filled with cement and painted to match the tiles.

Unbelievably when I knocked the mortar out... The wires were still there in a choc block. AND STILL LIVE!

I imagine that was a brave moment slopping wet cement into the box.

We found some of those back boxes here too. Good aren't they? Did you have any joins in your ring mains that were wires twisted together, taped up & plastered into the wall?

Good job we knocked it back to bare brick & took the falling down partition walls down, it made it much easier to rewire and replumb from scratch.

Bloody hell ! Nothing that bad here (yet) but they must have been telly daft - sky, virgin, ntl, telewest, there's cables and sockets everywhere, and every room has a mess on the wall where there was a tv bolted to it. even the garage had a telly on the wall

Oh there was another one. ..

Downstairs toilet in a converted coal shed under the stairs.

Next to the toilet towards the back wall was a double socket. Ideal for those who like to wizz on an electric fence.

I double checked yesterday, and I've definitely got a junction box with some 2.5mm T&E coming out of it nailed to a 18" plank of wood balanced on top of the open topped cold water tank.

Perhaps it's some sort of warning system, if the ballcock jams and the tank overfills the electrics (hopefully) trip as a signal.

Astonishing coincidences. You appear to live up the road from me and I once lived in Ruabon. (And Coedpoeth which was much nicer) Still married to a girl from Llay.

DOES NOT COMPUTE. I'm struggling to think of anywhere Coedpoeth is nicer than.

Just as well they put those cones there, I would never have seen the fucking huge bus without them.

Yup, he sat for 4 days in a spot where it was not safe to stop ,locals told him to go to a better spot but he only gave them abuse, then hissy fit. He destroyed a number of road signs and police were called and just lay on the road and may have told them to F..... off. Handcuffs were produced then. Charged with destroying said signs and released on bail.

To finalise the item started by Castros Bro, The gentleman appeared in court today. It would seem that he had been also identified on a store surveillance video too....

Kinky Girl is taking me on a trip tomorrow that includes flying scotsman. It's prolly going to be crammed in sardine style with the chance to look out the window at a sea of anoraks, but I can dream it's going to be nice. Positive thoughts where never my strong point.
