Commuting up the M40 today. Sat at 70mph with a stream of stuff passing me that I'm half paying attention to.

Grey Audi.... Grey Audi.... White BMW, black Golf, white golf, grey BMW, red Lancia Delta Integrale, white Audi WAITASECOND.

Made my day.

Brilliant !

In a pushbike magazine so I wasn't sure if this should go in that thread, but decided it would get a bigger audience here.

On a Facebook group, after someone asked whether fitting a dump valve was a good idea.

Hardly any petrol fuelled turbocharged cars of any type 'need' a vent to atmosphere air-bypass valve, let alone diesel cars. Easier to open the window, rev your engine and shout Im a cock! out of the window.

Nice work sir! Though I must concede, I drove a Supra Mk3 with a dump valve recently and both me and the owner giggled everytime it went Ptchoo...

I stopped at lights in Bristol today, and in the rear-view I noticed a 12-reg bling-spec Discovery racing up to come alongside me.  The ZX's stereo was playing some prog, and the Disco driver felt the need to rev the engine - it sounded as if it was about 6 pints short of oil, but obviously I'm a "loser" because he can also drown out the stereo in my £230 car with his shit music too...

However, it's not all rosy in his manor, judging by the feathering of the outer edges of both front and rear tyres (I suspect the rears used to be the fronts) but those tyres look way more expensive than £230, and that engine sounds and smokes like it's been neglected to more than the tune of £230...

(edit : I'm using an Ubuntu memory stick and have now managed to change the keyboard to UK English and have put £ instead of quid)

'Garage sale' on a local Facebook page. Trying to resist the temptation to ask if they still have the case of VD.

Shit face pineapple mong left me negative feedback on evilbay t'other day that I sent him a too small pool ball. I complained to evilbay that he was a window licker without a clue, and amazingly they have agreed with me, negative feedback erased.

Still getting an argos book in the post mind.

In the last year you've sold nigh on 4,000 of these things and only had 4 complaints. I think you've done pretty well tbh.

Just found this: me, about 1979, carbon-arc brazing. Still got the SIP welding transformer.

Beetle went to Dad in'81, then Mum had it until about '86 so the repairs lasted ok.

Didn't even know the picture had been taken!

Went to a bar last night and on the way home I went past a neighbours house who had a large pile of stuff out by the curb for the garbage man. Amongst it all was this beauty, a 20 gallon, 1.5hp air compressor. I dragged it home and today I gave it the once over and then plugged it in. It only flipping worked, SCORE.

Checked the specs online and it should be good for most air tools (7.3 CFM@90PSI and 7.9 CFM@40PSI) and as a bonus found out that these retail for just under $1000

I think you need a good clear out as that strimmer and lawnmower are taking up valuable bike space!

Decided to get the train back to Manchester from Kings Cross and go via York instead of going to Euston, hate that place, and Pendolinos.

East Coast train to York has broken a/c in two carriages so they declassified one of the first carriages. As such I'm sitting here in a big leather recliner with a massive table to myself
