Went up to Goodwood this morning for some Members' Meeting testing. About 6 period GT40s flying around, F2 cars, an F1 Maserati, 2 1920s/30s Bugattis, and some beastly French thing I think it was (not the Beast of Turin, was a French blue). And a an SD1, and Capri touring cars. Plus a few other lightweight Lotuses and Jags

Favourite moment was standing in the Pits, and a racing Mustang decided to, ahem, warm up his tyres for me as he was leaving thee pits while I had my phone out :-D

One of the guys at the MoT station today got a text message from the scammers demanding payment for "unlocking" apple accounts.

Spot the obvious problem. Hint - his reaction to the text was "eh? I don't even LIKE apples!"

Ahh bugger I would've had those off you if I'd known, saying that I should have asked in the wanted thread first, probably could do with a centre panel to flat polish before putting them on

I got them from here, they sell repair panels etc but appear to be cheaper than a lot of places

Having lost more than I'd care to think about on daft bets in the last few months, I lobbed £1 on three 'outsiders' on a football bet accumulator tonight and have just won £162.50.

So, that is the funding for the next 3 cars then :)

Our copy of T.H.A.S.I.O.T.P. is sandwiched between The Science of Meat(vol.1) and Sheep Husbandry and diseases.

A few shelves up from my favourite:

Plywoods of the World. Their development, manufacture and Application.

Matt had a thing for "interesting" charity shop books.

Thanks for the next few reading materials - potatoes are a super-food that people take for granted now, but were a miraculous food source that could stay in the ground until it was ready to harvest despite shite weather. It's credited with eradicating the threat of famine from the Highlands in the years after its introduction.

I'm way better off this month than I thought I was so I've finally been able to get the new piston rings for the Renault which has been holding me up on the engine rebuild.  I even have enough to get the liners honed by someone else and the MoT the Rover needs.  Then I'm skint again but still, I'm happy I've had some pennies available for this.

Nice... I can't imagine it's an original at that price, but is it black powder proofed (Uberti repro?) or just a replica?

It's possibly this, or it could be a bit of wood and metal stuck together, won't know till tomorrow.

Isn't all the outside stuff on those just bolted to a body tub, therefore not structural? Agree with gaffa tape though, my skin's not thin enough to turn up for a test without those jagged bits covered up. Nice car, especially like the moss 8)
