Payday! Quite skint now, but I have a new exhaust for the ZX on the way, much hoover stuff to get stalled projects finished on the way, Amy's glasses paid for, and the ZX is sat at the local tyre place for some front wheel aligning!

 

Back to being poor, any money made from the hoovers is for the holiday fund, should be a good holiday though!

I think Cupras are 180 and Cupra Rs are 225 bhp but don't hold me to that. What's the engine code, that will tell you.

Turns out it's Just a Cupra....

Mind you it does help bring the insurance down to the £200 mark

Car back from it's tracking. I asked them as he was doing the invoice "was it out much?" He MEGALOLLED at me and said "it was fucking way out m8"

 

£35, happy with that, didn't really get a chance to see if it had made a difference during the 400 yard drive to my mums, will see what its like on the way home. Steering felt lighter, but i'm not thinking about that until I hit the road properly tonight

Doesn't quite work like that I don't think. It's linked to the ads, so you'd need to set it to click links and them get off the page again. Which all sounds terribly naughty. Much like Google's tax affairs.

Home! AA bloke was brilliant tbh (he said it was a quiet night) and his eyes lit up when I pulled the new cable out the boot. It's still too bloody short, and the clip that clips onto the go pedal is slightly broken, but it got me home!

 

I need, therefore to get a new clip. May have one on the shed, but can they be bought on their own? CAn't find any on ebay using a brief search... Then work out/bodge again the new cable around the engine bay. As long as it gets me to work and back tomorrow, it can be a weekend job

Is it a cable for a Lucas pump model? They may be slightly different. The cables are that simple I think you could bodge something up from the contents of a hardware shop.

I can refit my choc block bodge at the (bosch) pump end, but the white end on the new cable I got from that scrap zx has a tang missing, which matey said may fall off.

 

If I can buy those white clips on their own, job jobbed. I may have one from the ebay cae, but Id need to get it out of the shed.

 

Also, how can the cable from an identical 1.9td hatch not fit my 1.9td hatch? Ill have to look and check its routed properly at the weekend, its draped over the intercooler rad atm and works fine! Dont want to leave it there too long though

The horn went off the other night after midnight and was blaring non-stop.

 

I was in a deep sleep and when I woke I realised something was amiss.

 

Victor Meldrew from next door was desperate to bang on my door to tell me it was MY CAR MAKING THE NOISE!!!

 

Anyway, I disconnected the battery and went back to bed.

 

I checked the car today and it was back to it's normal self.

 

I have removed the fuse just to be on the safe side.
