Anyone who mentions 'DNA' when referring to the company they work for is a massive twat who needs a good shoeing.

I got a tender invite at work.

Now I like to think I can hold my own in bullshit bingo but this company is out there and ahead! I like to know who I am dealing with so always research any offered tenders. First stop is the 'What we do' page where I find this:

"While our competition is still catching up to cloud technology, the cloud is already in our DNA, fully contemplating the Nexus of Forces (Mobile, Cloud, Information and Social). NeoGrid pioneered supply chain solutions that enable companies to access action-oriented collaboration tools in a high-scale, low-cost Software as a Service (SaaS) environment in the 1990s, even before the concept of SaaS was commonly adopted at a larger scale. In 2008, NeoGrid acquired Agentrics, which was created from the merger of Worldwide Retail Exchange (WWRE) and GlobalNetXchange (GNX), both established on the initiative of retail enterprises for developing the efficiency of commercial practices."

None the fecking wiser really!!

Tragic thing is I understand most of that blackcat bullshit and the words inbetween :(

Need a new job I think for my own sanity :D

The latest changes Egay are trying to push through.

They are wanting sellers to send stuff to an Argos store so the buyer can collect it themselves

But what if it goes "missing" whilst in Argos' custody? I hear you ask....

No problem says Egay,we will refund the buyer and stop him from leaving negative feedback.

Not 1 word about recompense for the seller tho.............

I nearly got SWMBO's cambelt sent to Argos jsut so, when questioned about where it came from, I could say Argos, and wait for the cloud of confusion to fall...

Then I remembered I;d have to drive into Wycombe, and I hate doing that, so had it bought up to my desk by our post room guy, who chatted about cars to me for a bit, he's a great guy! Lets me off the odd letter every now and again as I actually talk to him, rather than just view him as the postroom guy!

It's a marvellous creation. Its a regular at Longbridge. I'd really like to hope it has a diesel at one end and a kv6 petrol at the other.

Argos deliveries work well if you have a local Argos, and if you have multiple things in transit at once. I prefer it to home delivery, but then I often work within sight of an Argos (and know four weeks in advance which one it will be) and my experience of deliveries to the house, from anyone, is poor.

Are you referring to people from DNA the agency???

Home delivery is only any use if you are home and have the hearing of a bat so that you can hear the zero decibel touch to the door, before the "we called but you were out card" whispers through the letterbox.

I have now taken to getting things delivered to Argos, just down the road from work, picking things up from the Porcelfarce depot, just up the road from work, or getting it dropped off at work, where there is somebody on the gate 24hrs.

I did get something left with one of my neighbours at the new place, they seem ok but asked when I was going to start work on it. Seemed quite surprised when i said that I had already moved in.

Ooh ooh ooh ooh it's coming to Norwich on Sunday!  And there's me thinking I'd have to drive to the south coast or something to get to see it this summer.  This has made me inordinately happy.  :-D

we are hoping to go the teesside airshow at the end of august, the vulcan has been booked for this, but this weekend seeing her flying is going to be an extra treat.

Two chinooks went past just as I was getting home this evening- more of a static display than the Vulcan :-)

A V8 at each end would be better, but I can understand why that might not work  :-D

These things (and many others) made me grin today, in no particular order....

Voisin, 'Beast of Turin' FIAT, Willys Interlagos, Wankel racing engines, Don Garlits, Citroen DSs, very old sidecar combinations.

That would really make me grin if the KV6 is at the front (not leaking a drop of water) dragging along the BMW,INNIT diesel because the EGR and DMF are both fucked.

I like Windows Phone but this juxtaposition in the Open Forums made me smile.

Have to say that it actually works really well and buyers seem to really like it. We've been doing eBay / Argos deliveries for about twelve months or whatever and everything anyone has said about the whole process has been incredibly positive.
