It defies belief someone would have that shit on them. I can actually almost understand small, drunken tattoos (except having Mike J's a c*nt' of course) but having crap pictures of a crap American pop star is mind boggling.

Kerry Katona?

I would.

But I have got no morals or standards.

None.

On Tuesday i managed to get a video of one of the cranes i used to drive at work getting dismolished, 150 tons of steel crashing to the ground is a hell of a sight and sound to see/hear.

I have a couple of small tattoos, they're important to me, and me alone and I spent a good year making up my mind whether or not I wanted to have them marked on me forever. I have another design I want to add, but I'm still working out where best to put it and the finer details of the design before committing to saving up for it. Most people seem to go into getting a tattoo without any consideration as to what they'll think about it next week, let alone next decade.

To keep it shite related, I'm still thinking of suitable locations for the BL whirl/plughole logo, current favoured location is the top of my right foot, but I'm told that's not exactly one of the most comfortable locations to have tattooed thanks to the lack of thickness of flesh. We shall see, I shan't be doing anything rash like getting my bellybutton pierced or my bumhole tattooed with said design.

As someone with belly button AND arse tattoos I can't really judge. I have found that where it's more bone than flesh it can be very painful, though the people doing the work can make it painful if they want.

This isn't just any old truck getting stuck under any old bridge, this is a Marks & Spencer DAF CF 85 getting stuck under a mediaeval gate in York.

The Mrs gets her new car tomorrow so the Puma comes back to my custody so I can use it for wizzing up the country roads to work next week.

I was just reminded of a grin tonight on the way home. Spotted a pre-bubble Rover 214 and thought to myself 'nice to see a crusty old Rover still doing the rounds' when I realised it was a good 5 years newer than the Maestro I was sat in.

That's outstanding - I'm tanning that for my Faceache status!

Woof? :D

Looks like it didn't take much to bring it down...

I watched that a few times to try and work out what they did - seems like they slit the uprights most of the way through just near the top, you can see them peel open when it falls. I wonder how they did it - I'd assume off another crane?

I already did!

Re the crane, ace vid but I'd say that was more 'knocked over' than demolished, bit like this...http://youtu.be/jNWe1b_2yE4

The story is that whilst i was climbing my crane there was a mighty bang and when i looked i saw that "13" was on the deck, impressed with this i hanged around for a while whilst they got number "23" ready to drop.

What they do is plasma cut along the top of the legs with a torch off the little blue cherry picker before the 360 comes along and pushes it over, the sound is believable hence why you here me yelp!

They are quite old now dating from 1994 and have done some serious work over the years, there's another 8 machines in piles just to the right of the video.

Thats quite an amazing video to watch trig. Hearing the last bit of 'Aha - Take On Me' on your vid though has got me listening to it now...

Drove the Micra all week this week to and from work as the Rover had done its duties plus costing me £80 in petrol over 4 days due to much travelling (Telford, Brum, Liverpool etc...) I couldnt be arsed to fill it up again so left it at home all week and used the Micra instead. I love Micras nippiness and small cute features, makes me even more determined to find a nice warm garage for the Rover and Micra to share over winter.

Great footage - I will watch it with the sound turned up tomorrow for the full dynamic.

I was sailing past Felixstowe docks a few years ago when a containership managed to make a total horlicks of mooring up and took out the two front legs of a dockside crane with its bow overhang. The back legs collapsed as well and the whole crane dropped about twenty feet and landed upright. They must have just put the wheels back on the stubs of the legs because for years there was one crane shorter than all the others. It was quite spectacular to watch, lots of sparks flying and a big cloud of smoke. I would love to know what the skipper and the pilot said to each other.

That kind of thing is ace to watch. We saw the demolition gang cutting up old (storage) tanks a few years ago and it looked a right laugh. They had a crane with a sort of claw on it (and, I assume a camera) then basically sort of opened them up like a can of beans and peeled them away, often cutting a perfectly straight horizontal line first.

This is my old school getting what it deserves earlier this year. The director of the company that did the work was in my year at school.

It was sad in a way too, partly because they left some of it standing but mostly because they let all the teachers out first. :(

I used to love watching the Fred Dibnah demolitions and listening to him going on about "the dynamite boys" :D

I'm guessing that your schooldays weren't the happiest of your life, Richard?

Yeah i remember that happening, We just got these brand new cranes what weren't even commissioned yet when a ship what was leaving the quay under it's own steam and with no tug boat lost all engines and drifted back into the quay again with the bow hitting the crane, They had to jack the whole crane up, all 180 tons of it to fit new dollys again.

Kate's driving licence is due to be renewed (10 years since she started driving). I took this photo of her, and got my photographer mate to put it on good paper, and the correct size. (this is Kate's clothes that she wears to work). DVLNI won't accept it.

Why? Because she's smiling. A bit. Which now means she can drive on an expired licence. All well and good. Kate works for the Northern Ireland equivalent of the Crown Prosecution Service. She puts people in jail. How's that gonna look?

However: I rang them (DVLNI) yesterday and explained the situation. "Very sorry about that sir, that picture looks OK to me. Listen, don't worry, I'll crop it a wee bit, and we'll get that sent out ASAP. Sorry to mess Miss Parker about."

Got a note this morning to say that it's on the way. Good job Coleraine!
