Working on Christmas Day. My first Christmas as a private hire driver so decided to put my name down to work all day. Christmas tariff so 50% extra. Really enjoyed the day, everyone in a good mood, no traffic and plenty of 'tips'. Was about to sign off at 6pm but a job pinged up to collect a customer from a local club. Turned up, waited and waited. Just about to log the job as a No Show then a young lass dashed out in full going out gear. "Are you waiting for me? It's Katie" Agreed that I was so in she got. She needed to go and feed her four horses and return to the party, could I wait and bring her back etc? Did that. The grin is that she was delightful and her horses were in stables miles away. £30 fare and a £10 tip. A great end to work on Christmas Day.

I did this for about 3 years and Christmas and New Year didn't really seem like work. Our peak tarriffs over that period were double rate, so the earnings really stacked up and with no traffic to speak of and cops who just wanted the town centre emptied fast jobs were usually done quicker than ever.  Fortunately we didn't have to pay extra subs over that time, so a really good way to earn £££ (and yes, there were a few invites.....)

Coming back from @UltraWomble's yesterday (thanks for that, M) on the M6 at Thelwall by the 56 turn off, there was a Hillman Imp police car being piloted along. It even had a sort of rolling sign in the back window. Bit dangerous, it seemed to be doing only about 40mph.  Great to see though.

Is that an actual print off from a Haynes, if so it's better detailed than the usual shite.

No picture as I was driving, but at about 17:30 today on the M25 anticlockwise between junctions 12 and 11 there was a hero/mentalist A-framing a Mk2 renault scenic with another Mk2 scenic. There were in, but not causing, heavy traffic and my day and 200 mile drive was improved substantially by the sight of this act of idiocy.

Little legs playing Fallen Order on the ps4 before we got to the Silverlink to watch the new film. £36 for an adult and 2 kids stings a bit though.a26a2d5b0697920bde041cbc1647dc0b.jpg

There is an even more complex version of that for CXs which I've seen floating around....

Good news.

What did the vet think was wrong with him, something he ate?

Thanks.

Yes, that or a virus of some sort. He's normally really fussy with eating, won't eat outside the house including when they try and give him treats at Pets at Home.

Possibly because he ate something from a shed you've bought and learnt eating random food is not going to end well?

I have made Musical Offspring proud.

As we approach the third decade of the 21st century, I have finally joined the second.  I downloaded the Wetherspoons app onto my phone, set up Google Pay, and obtained a cheap yet filling breakfast without communicating with the bar staff at the Hedgeford Lodge...

The new starwars film is better than the reviews suggest. I was gutted when Rey dies at the end though.

Thing is they had to kill her off really as otherwise there would have been an eternal "will there / won't there" debate about the trilogy ennealogy continuing even further - or as long as Disney can continue wringing money out of it at least.

Only the original three Star Wars films do it for me. The rest is just pension fund top-ups and marketing.

I'm happy as I've just found a chap near me that's selling me the set of 4 BMW alloys in this picture (AutoStihl Grifo Alloys (13x6)) which all have good tyres, Plus the anti roll bar links and bushes (1602's never had them fitted as standard) and a set of lowered and uprated springs for £150 and I'm working on a deal to include the Koni Classic Adjustable Dampers that are fitted to it as well. 8)

I agree to a point. The middle 3 were crap, but I think disney's efforts were a lot better and more true to the originals. Chewie dying wasn't a suprise really.
