The Home-Made Car 1963

The car that Arthur rebuilt was a blue 1923 Morris Oxford, registration XO 3871. Its real-life owner also supplied the chassis that Arthur brought home on a handcart from the scrapyard, although this was from a different car, a 1916 Perry, because he did not want to dismantle the Morris for filming.

 ✓ Taxed Vehicle

XO3871 is Taxed Tax due: 1 September 2024 🙂

From the YouTube comments:

Quite a interesting movie. The car of course is the star,The owner of the Bullnose Morris in the film, Eric Longworth, kept the car until his death in 2011. The car is now owned by Stuart Cooke of Darwen Lancashire. When the film was shot, the car had already been fully restored, so the chassis of another car which Eric was restoring at the time, a rare 1916 Perry, was used to replicate the Morris during restoration. The Little Girl is Sandra leo who acted in another film 'psych 59 '.

Been trying to spot this for a while. I thought it was in "Laugh? I nearly paid my licence fee" but it was in the first episode of "Naked Video"

I loathe click bait YouTube videos. JUST SAY THE MODEL OF THE CAR IN THE TITLE!

Jay is beginning to look a bit old and frail :-(

I noticed that too. He seems to have aged a lot in the last year or so.

He had a couple of quite nasty accidents in quite close succession . He clothes lined him self off a motorbike when crossing a car park and there was a wire he didn’t see . His steam car then blew up and set fire to his face .

I do wonder what he has planned for his collection after he's gone as he's famously never sold a car so apparently has about 180 cars and the same in bikes and quite a few that are worth 5 million + .  I wonder if he's going to leave a trust to turn his collection into a public Museum  but then again he always goes on about driving the cars, which won't happen if it's a museum.

I don't think he had any kids so I don't think he'll be leaving it to family.

Edit. How odd,  I just listened to a podcast with him in it and he says he says it won't be his problem when he's dead but doesn't want to make a museum  he just wants them to be sold on.
