Meh it can fucking stay there. I was on my way to the pub and it stopped literally round the corner. Will have to come out with the truck and get it tomorrow.

Think I might be aiming too high with the price for the Peugeot, it's difficult because it's not top dollar cosmetically, but it's had a truckload done mechanically, I am struggling to operate it's heavy clutch at the moment though so will be using the truck for the foreseeable.

Selling a lovely little 58reg C1 Citroen for my mate, got a text from a chap who wants to come tomorrow to view/make an offer, Later got a call from a lovely lady in Stoke who sounds a brilliant customer, says price sounds great and want's it for her daughter who can only drive little cars due to physical issues. You can almost guarantee tomorrows guy,if he turns up, will be a total tit head making mongy offers.

I will update !

Yep tithead , it needs a fair bit of work..... erm no it fucking doesn't... couple of miniscule tiny marks on the body of an 8 yr old city car .....YEGODS!

Nice lady coming from Stoke tomorrow and can have it for less than i'm asking cos sounds nice and i'm a sucker for sob story

I will update again !

Stokey bloke and wife turned up, all good and as predicted were lovely, wee bit of nice person, thanks for not being a knob discount given and they are well happy with the car. They told me their current car ( 53 reg Focus with 67k )was making a funny noise so they were scrapping it,I had a look and it's just an idler pulley, I guess you know what happens next.................

200 ish miles yesterday in a new Transit, the hi-top, long wheelbase sort with rear wheel drive.

A nice drive most of the time but boy, is it easy to stall! No warning, just suddenly nothing. As if the engine controller just decides to give up.

I am very kind to clutches normally but this just had to be revved or - clunk - nothing; and don't try lugging along in 2nd either, again, - clunk- nothing.

Are they all like this? Fault or feature?

Just over 1,000 miles in Herman in a week, mostly done today to Guildford and back, averaging 37mpg :D

My brother drives a brand new Transit custom and he says it's dead easy to stall, just cuts out. Previous van was a connect with presumably the ancient 1.8 tddi donkey.

They raffled the car off at the local Joan and Darby?

It's programmed to do that, to preserve the DMF I think. It's bloody dangerous, it can leave you stranded half way across a junction if you're not careful.

Feature. I have one tonight and have delivered them before. Stalled this current one twice today. Nice to drive otherwise, like a car.

So before I forget how's about a lovely post about changing the bulbs on the Frontera.

Side light on the drivers side has been out for ages. Tuesday the main beam went as well just as Mrs Shrimp was going to take it to work.

Of course the bulb is hard to get to, not as bad as modern stuff, but still not great as the air filter blocks most of it.

So housing for that all taken off at least let me get most of my hand in.

Both the plug for the bulb and the rubber bit were stuck solid and pulling it just pulled the retaining clip.

Eventually came free after I shoved a small screwdriver be terry the bulbs pins. Sprayed the plug with WD-40 to make sure it doesn't happen again.

The side light was another thing that just couldn't be reached

Managed it by unscrewing it with pliers and then hooking it out with a big screwdriver.

Side light bulb looked OK on first look but not when seen closer. The main beam was more obvious

Two new bulbs for about £8 quickly purchased from the small car parts shop near by and then put it all back together.

Side light was a twat to get back in but luckily the wire wanted to be back where it had spent the past 20odd years so it helped. Main was easy now the plug wasn't seized.

All in all an exciting hour and a half spent messing and me forgetting to take a pic of it all working again.

What sort of money is he looking for? Nearly bought another Megane CC this week but got pipped to the post...

I'll ask next time I see her.

I'm waiting for a train. This caper is a bit fake though, as I'm borrowing a car, not owning it. More once I land in The East this afternoon. It's going to be a long weekend though. I'll be covering 350 in my new steed. Via Yorkshire and an appointment on Monday to see work start on the 2CV's bodyshell.

Not one, not two, but three different courier deliveries are supposed to arrive today.

I might be on the news this evening. Something about a "bloody rampage".

Close to £3k really- she's just spent £1500 on a new steering rack, brakes, and ac pump.

She says everything works and has a full service history. As far as I can see there are no parking marks on it at all. The new range rover sport comes next week!

Saw a tempting Citroen Xsara estate in Ayrshire. 2.0 HDi with 130k miles and 10 months MOT. Nice and tidy condition and they only wanted £475 for it.

I ask the seller what the service history is like, as in how old the clutch and timing belt are. They tell me they don't know as they didn't do the work and they couldn't ask the previous owner as they passed away.

AH'M OOT.

EDIT: They just texted me back again saying they have 'all paperwork present' and would take £400 for it. I haven't even mentioned price to them at all yet. LAWL. Desperate to offload it much? I'm RUNNING AWAY now.

Are you likely to find a £475 car with a recent clutch and timing belt change?

No, but at least a record of when it was done would be nice.

People say you only hear the bad stuff going on and nobody ever comments saying "everything went ok".

Well, everything went ok. 3 out of 3 delivered intact.

All of the above.  Mine is the last of the previous model (63 plate) and does the same.  It can, has and no doubt will again leave me halfway into a junction with no engine!  Most annoying.  However it's nicer to drive than most of the cars I've owned, and more comfortable, so I forgive it quite a lot...
