It would be a shame Trig, but it should be put on a similar age related plate, and if the seller really wants it then I'd say let him have it. It doesn't seem like a particularly desirable plate to me though.

Trig...that fuel pipe looks like a barrel olive rather than an ordinary one. If the pipe nut goes right up to the part you are screwing it into chances are it won't seal......

I r idiot....

Barrel olive is the wrong one!! The good one is stepped olive

I think the van is worth way more than the plate.

That plates worth not a lot, and, as mentioned, it will get an age related one anyway.

Plate is worth fa until the van is tested......so if he lets you have it at a nice price you could let him take the plate after an mot if it is that much of a sticking point

Mother Shiterider has decided she needs a smaller car, so the lupo that has been sat on my drive for at least three years will get recomissioned.

She actually bought it brand new, and gave it to me six years later after she bought a new vectra.

I'm to be given said vectra as payment because, and i quote "i'll probaly scrap it otherwise".

Not sure what to do now, i may flop the daily fiesta on and run the vectra.

I've always disliked diesels as personal cars, and i've never liked any post catalyst vauxhall (bar omegas) but these days if it starts in the morning and the radio works i don't give a fuck what i drive.

Agreed on a (very) low price for a 2002 Ford Ka. Yes, I know. Ummm Ive always liked how they drove. I cant think of any other excuses.

Should have it tomorrow evening.

I've agreed to buy the Sierra for £250, delivered. The Ital might take a little longer as the seller is quipping about the "valuable" number plate now.

Does a weber 32/36 fit a CVH Sierra without much modification? The old Pierburg one currently fitted is temperamental and was one of the reasons it got parked up.

Not  without a lot of work

A rebuild kit for the pierburg carb from a vw specialist will sort most of its problems out

Mk2 xr2 came with a weber dmtr........

If it was me thought i'd sell the sump and box for mega coin and go twin cam+mt75.

Cancelled the sale of the jag on ebay as high bidder backed out. Never got a penny from him but its saying that it'll check if he was refunded?

Nothing through on paypal so i can prove he didnt pay.

Should be ok?

Trig-

Pierburgs are a POS when not working, and a POS to get working. Ask me how I know. However, when they do work they're diamond.

Some good advice here:

I've also got a home rebuild guide somewhere, which covers all the bits the Hayne book of lies doesn't, and all the fault finding. I'll dig it out.

Pug 405 has decided it doesn't want to start from cold. Needs a good 3 minutes cranking to catch. I think it must be jealous of the saab waiting to take its place.

Will change the fuel filter and see if that helps. No air bubbles I can see (got clear hose to pump). Do wonder if the HG has gone/going. Once started no issues and from warm it is very happy to catch. No flat spots or any other issues I can see.

Ideally need it to last another 3 weeks whilst I get some spare pennies to fix Saab handbrake and exhaust blow.

Just ordered a top hose for the SD1. £23 delivered from MG specialist.

Rimmers wanted £33 plus carriage.

I drove something I wasn't expecting yesterday. More here. WARNING - contains elements of Renault 6.

The club was at the Lymm Transport Festival last year; it has a monthly meet at the Antrobus Arms in Cheshire.

First thing the morning National Windscreens came over and fitted a new screen for me meaning that I now own a very clean one of these.

I've also got a slow puncher fixed (the alloys needed cleaning around the rim inside) which cost a reasonable £10 so I should be all fit for shitefest now.

Look what I saw tanking up the A50 yesterday

Crikey that's a spot.  That one used to be owned by a Vel Satis fancier in Aberdeen

I've a feeling I was following this at some point. One of those 'wish I could get closer to see what the hell that is' type moments. I might have dreamt it though.

This should have been a boating weekend at Country Fest Westmorland but the failure of the trailer tyre meant we just took the Audi Convertible (no roof down) and because of the poor weather spent our time looking at the Lancaster canal.

I think I might bring this to Shitefest next weekend.

Work carpark looking 33% shitter today. Wonder what would happen if you left them to their own devices?

Glad to see the Bx back on the road. You can almost date the pics of it based on how much paint has fallen off the front bumper.

Drove like a bit of a twat again today and it was rewarding!

Pottered through the village at bang on 30mph with a woman in a Polo all over my arse.

There's a bit of a roundabout at the top of the hill and with judicious use of gears, the correct line and vicious acceleration at the apex it's possible to drag the lightweight Scirocco round it without braking, even in the damp, like tonight. Woman behind tried to follow me through it but slithered to an undignified halt in a mass of overweight small car understeer!

I am bad.

I bet her tyres are down to the cords and she still blames you...

I think I've just had it a year now and must have done coming up to 10,000 miles in it. I've also spent way more on maintenance than it's worth, but I still love driving it. I have been saying it for ages, but the next 12 months will see a proper cosmetic makeover I hope. I've almost collected all the panels I need and it will get a partial respray - in more hardy paint this time.

If anyone wants to donate a set of TZ trims to the cause (or GTi alloys, natch) it would be appreciated
