I bought the £18 code reader re commended on here and yesterday used it to clear an EML on a Subaru Legacy (in addition to connecting it to three other working cars).

The light hasn't reappears and I'd say the gadget was a bargain.

Which one is it Tayne? Do you have a link?

I dropped my Mk1 off at my dad's this morning to try and get this oil leak sorted, it's pissing out of the rocker cover as well as the cap and there's signs of water coming out of the head gasket too, bugger.

It's my 35th birthday today so I'm celebrating it at a 70s weekender at Pontins, I'm kicking myself now for not bringing the Mk3 though.

Mrs T also had these Cortina cupcakes made for me.

That code reader looks quiet good for price. Cheaper than mine was and views live data too. Shows how things are getting better over a couple of years!

Gaffer has just bought another 75... currently his sixth on fleet, along with a smattering of 400s. 2.0CDTi manual tourer on a 51-plate for £150. The bastard.post-4240-142928932567_thumb.jpg

I celebrated having my own first house by building an engine in the kitchen over the winter, my mother would have never let me do that!

The head is coming off the Sigmund Cox 740 this weekend.

I don't look forward to what comes after that.

Very minor news, the broken Umm spring is currently with http://www.owensprings.co.uk in Rotherham for mending. The chap reckoned about £60 to repair it (1 new leaf) and a couple of new bushes, it should be ready next week.

He did say they could make complete replacement leaf springs for about £95 each plus VAT,  which is a bit better than buying from abroad with heavy weight shipping.

I'm so old (51) that tonight I was asleep in my car outside a function at Silverstone and apparently two legends pointed at me and made a comment on '"Thats how to make a living behind the wheel"

This was relayed to me by the lady I was waiting for. The legends? Paddy Hopkirk and Mark Webber- I didn't even see the feckers!

Dropped over to my mates paintshop this morning to pick up some motorbike parts he had done for me. He usually has some great cars in there (40's American hotrods, 60's Porsche's, etc). Like a fool I forgot to take my phone as today he had in a Pulse motorbike. Not the Chinese 125, but one just like this:

Looked enormous, and being powered by a Honda twin cylinder 400cc, I doubt it would ever take off! When I first saw it, for a few seconds I honestly thought it was a small aircraft. Hopefully I'll see it again before the owner picks it up.

Can you imagine the looks you would get riding (driving?) that from other road users?

Swmbos sister took the kids (and ours) to Woburn safari Park, and lost her rear wiper arm.

Just changed it, needed to position my bearing puller, mole grip it shut and in one place then tap it round with a hammer to get it to crack the remains off.

New ebay wiper arm and blade and job jobbed...

Best tell her that her front blades are fucked too when she gets back (she dropped her car off at ours then walked into town)

At least you were somewhere interesting. I was asleep in the car at Aldi yesterday waiting for MUTHA_RML to finish shopping. Age? 27 in a few weeks...

Old Man has just merrily informed me that the to-be 'spare' Bini wheels will fit his Civic with new bolts.

Going to try to convince him to just sell them and save for the VTi (or possible Civic 2.0 Type-S) he actually wants instead of spewing money at a car he is now fairly smitten with after it was bought solely as an interim because his old one needed welding.

(Besides, I might offer him his £500 back for it in a year).
