Just sent a message to buy another car as none of mine work.

She is going to kill me but I fucking hate cycling on the road.

Doing a school trip this morning. Pupils and teachers wander over to the bus.

"How many seats are on the bus?"
"24, that's what was booked."
"Oh. You normally send a bigger bus out."
"Yeah, but you booked a 24-seater for 8.30am. The bigger buses are on schools just now, you don't normally leave until 9.15am which is why you get a big bus as it's a bus which is returning to the depot about 3 minutes from here, as opposed to me having to run down from the other depot 30 miles away."
"Oh... I'll go and get my car then, will I?"
"How many are actually travelling?"

"27".

Simply stunning.

Having remebered to bring my camera in today I thought I better share a couple of pic's of yesterdays job.

Mungas were made of the same kind of awesome as the Steyr-Puch Haflinger.

"Classic car tax

As earlier announced, the rolling deadline for classic car VED tax exemption will switch to apply to all cars registered before 1 January 1976. Great news for owners of old bangers!"

Obviously not my words.

Another Munga.

I had one, till fairly recently.

Bloody hated it. Unusual, for me.

That'll the the end of that rolling I reckon. Just found CAR reporting that the Severn Crossing toll was to be abolished. Sadly, they're wrong, though it will be a little bit cheaper from 2018.

Today I attempted (rather half arsedly) to 'Vulgalour' my cars and my mates T-reg Corsa Breeze. As he has a driveway (which is accessed over the grassy area next to the road) this meant easy access to wallplug so no stretching of hoover cable. Did the Merc, Micra then started on mates Corsa.

Mate knows absolutely nowt about cars, a car to him is a means of transport, he used to own an MR2 which he bought new, never serviced or washed it and drove it until it broke. This poor little Corsa has never been serviced or washed or looked qfter at all so cleaning the inside meant using a dustpan and brush before the hoover! As these cars have carpet which can easily keep a hold of dust and dirt it prooved a little challenging. When I drove it onto the drive it wasn't idling correctly when moving along.

Some water and soap was chucked over the thing but the attempt was in vain, having only a very limited supply of rags and car cleaning stuff meant my own standards were simply not met, from afar it looks nice and shiney but up close the painwork still has flecks and ingrained dirt which a good blast of a high-powered jet wash might help to get rid of. Nevertheless, a slap of tyre and plastics shine saw it looking at least a bit better than it actually was.

He is talking of selling it oddly enough...

Trigger - buy that Cortina.  It's gorgeous and looks well worth £4K.

Well, as you asked so nicely...

Yep, It's mine! It is really tidy and at what i paid for it i couldn't not buy it. Believed genuine 25000 miles from new, the seller paid £5950 for it in 2010 (after i saw it at Beaulieu). It drives really nicely and the attection it gets is even better than my Mk3! The rush hour traffic just pulled out the way for me!

Here's some photos I've just quickly taken.

That cortina is sexy as fook

In other news mrs fp's car now has 12 months mot, replaced the front bearing yesterday which went surprisingly well without problems.

That is a top looking motor! Very nice buy.

That is not even spending money. All you have done is just moved it from the bank to the garage.

That Cortina is nice now, imagine how nice it's going to be when it's been Trigger'd!  It's really nice to see one that hasn't been modified with lowering springs and alloys and whatnot because even though those things can look really good, the Mk1 Cortina is a really sharp design straight out the box.  Lovely.

My dad had a Mk1 Cortina for about 15 years, I passed my test in it.

Lovely looking car. Sadly by the time I can afford one at current prices they'll be worth double!

I also don't want to sully my reputation by buying a vehicle that isn't utterly dire.

Westwood mowershite has returned from being serviced.  At the risk of sounding like Sweeney Todd, newly sharpened blades are gr9.

note to self:  don't accept meat pies from DS20.

That Mk1 looks lovely Trig, will you sell the Mk3 or find another garage/storage solution?

Posted

I'm keeping the Mk3 but I need to work out storage as yet, check out the original dealer plates!

Bristol Street are still going too.

I don't know quite what you paid for it (but I have a rough idea from your other posts) but these don't seem to have the same scene tax as the lashed up mk1 and 2 scrotes your see for sale. MEGAVALU

I paid £4000, I didn't think that was too bad. As long as I get back what I paid for it I'm happy.
