No, that's not correct.

It's always better to have a tool you don't need, than need a tool you don't have...

I think you all know what I mean 😁

I've been going through my old photos and this one caught my eye.

It's a Routemaster in Halifax but what is the car in the bottom right corner?

And do you know I think I know the car and it's driver. Small world.

Looks like a Subaru Legacy.

Thanks, a quick Google does confirm this. I'm sure 90% of these are estates which is why I didn't recognise the slightly awkward C pillar.

It was taken somewhere between Halifax and Huddersfield, I don't know exactly where but that was the bus route, and about 25 years ago if that helps.

Booked tickets and hotel for Retromobile in February. Let’s see if the French can do a car show better than the NEC. Shouldn’t be too difficult.

I went a few years ago, it was brilliant. Spent ages looking around the first hall we went in only to discover it was the small bit and the other hall was gigantic

Yes it was somebody I knew through work - 1990-92 odd - I remember the car - very distinctive and unusual at the time.

Pennine winters are super harsh and salty - I doubt it got past 10 years old.

FFS, I have to post the paperwork off to get my plate off the BMW. It needs a 'cheque' or a 'postal order'. What ancient artefacts are these?!

The Legacy saloon was Subaru’s first world rally car driven by Colin  McRae (and others) before they switched to the Impreza.

Went driving places because the weather turned briefly nice.

Need to grease the suspension.

Still waiting on parts for the Jag. This seems to be common.

But will they be the right parts when they do finally arrive? 🤔

BBC news at lunchtime had a story warning people to stay away from a canal in Birmingham because of a spillage of Sodium Cyanide. Over to the reporter at the scene. “The emergency services are here and a number of the public seeing what’s going on”. FFS! What are you going to see apart from dead fish ( the few that have survived the existing pollution)?

BBC helpfully told us Sodium Cyanide is poisonous, (is there anyone over 10 who doesn’t know cyanide is a poison?) and added “it could make you ill”. Very ill indeed, as in dead.

When I first got the Jag, it had a body-coloured grille on it which I didn't really like, as far as I'm concerned Jags should have a silver grille, I got given a silver grille by the seller who was a breaker of Jag XJs. So today, I actually put aside being lazy and went and fitted it, it wasn't as involved as I thought.

Got one of the trailing arms on the Toyota replaced this evening after work.

The front mounting bolt on the other side is so far steadfastly refusing to come out, so I gave up for the evening.  It's come undone a little way but then it jammed solid for some reason.  I'm going to have another crack tomorrow evening - I have a blowtorch, a nut splitter and a dremel so one way or another the bastard thing is going to come undone.  I also need to drill out the  bolt for the handbrake cable bracket, which snapped when I tried to undo it despite a liberal soaking in Plus Gas.  The one on the nearside came out fine, thankfully.

The Getz is back to kangarooing again, so the throttle sensor obviously wasn't the issue (either that or the one I've bought is also duff, but that's unlikely).  So logically the only remaining potential culprit is the EGR valve - I've tried using cleaner but evidently that didn't do the trick, so I'm going to have to bite the bullet and take it out - which will be fun as it's right down the back of the engine and you can't even see it without removing the scuttle panel.  Bloody motors.

Damn washer is still in Missouri.

Not gonna entertain the idea of doing anything on the car today.  Got no energy. Fell asleep in my chair after work.

Damn, I'm getting old.

I ran an insurance quote with tinted windows declared on the Volvo before I spaff £70 on doing the job, it actually made it about a tenner cheaper for the year!

Pre cut tint film is £50 (including the upgrade to the nicer film) then another £15 for the kit to install it.

I think it'll transform the car somewhat, well worth it!

Never mind. The ethanol vapor from the tank had turned some of the alloy to powder.

That's much better. That's the kind of thing that blocks injectors up.

Oh, and having jacked up the car, these bushings failed. They were new in 2019.

All modern rubber is utter trash.

Yeah, my phone seems to enjoy picking out random letters that I haven't picked out. Typing on a phone is very difficult.

Just now, when typing 'random' the phone picked 'tsandom'. And usually when I press the space bar, I get an 'n' instead. Somethingnlikenthis.
