Presumably you have a 2cv knowledge able mot tester? I take the old cars to hengoed if you need somewhere, but it’s probably a way from you.

He’s tested mine for the last few years, so becoming more knowledgeable each year! . He’s pretty good with older cars, I dread him retiring!

Or rather I would have done if my bucket hadn't gained a hole in the bottom from being bounced around the garden by Storm Whateverthefuckitsnamewas the other week.

There's a song in there somewhere I'm sure... 😛

Had a rare day in Glasgow where it wasn't raining so I went out and attempted to improve the SLK's headlights, which are atrocious.
I'd got a little eBay kit of drill mounted mops for a fiver and being too tight to invest the £20 in an actual headlamp restoration kit set about them with a combination of a tube of Lidl's finest own brand toothpaste and some baking soda and I have to say the results were most impressive. The lenses weren't as bad as some I've seen but now I can see the reflectors inside them so hopefully the next stage of uprated bulbs will give me a fighting chance of being able to see if they're actually switched on.

No photos because my hands were covered in toothpaste...

Visited an antique / collectable place today. Wife purchased this for £18 as she has a thing for the vulcan.

All bits are there but somebody has started it so I will have no guilt about opening bags etc.

Bonus as well - you can do a version from 617 sdn - anti flash white with blue steel stand off weapon. And that's what I will be doing.

If she has a thing for Vulcans, Solway Air Museum up near Carlisle do cockpit tours of one.  It’s brilliant and I highly recommend it.

My wife has a thing for C-130 and A400Ms so that may well be right up her street (and mine). Stopping just down the road in June so it's a 'must do' - thank you

My Grandads 2nd World war flight log was on display at that Museum. He used to fly Wellingtons for the Canadian Air force (not sure why Canada TBH, he was from Carlisle).

What do they do in the unit opposite that has this steady stream of ££££ cars coming and going?

I believe it's storage for RM Sotheby's auctions when awaiting it's day for going under the hammer.

Penultimate compulsory MoT completed!

Only 737 miles between MoTs! The lowest since the online records began and only just over half the mileage of the previous couple of years. I think this is a pointer that I need to use it more!

There will be a Swiss bodied Aston Martin outside there in the next 10 minutes. 😉

Was the tester that surprised it passed, he had to highlight it? 😁

I am visiting family in Lincs. Down the road is Halls Garage, an MG specialist. I popped in to say 'hi' and promised I'd return with the Maestro once the weather improves. They were really friendly bearing in mind we dropped in unannounced.

It's an interesting little place. Service and repair garage for 'normals' with a forecourt of BL chod thoroughbred sports cars. Nice little 'mini museum' inside.

Recommended - it's on the A15 north of Bourne.

A friend of mine used to work there for years and Halls have been there even longer than that.  Said friend is in a different field of work these days and enjoying their new job.

I didn't even look further than the new equivalent model for a replacement. It was cheap and did the job just fine. and the new one arrived today.

My dad has just sent a photo of one of their near neighbours having the engine removed from a c4 grand picasso on the drive. Seems a bit drastic!

I saw the warnings of high pollen count as my work computer thinks I'm in London.  There are no flowers here except snowdrops, are there any there?

Bit of pollen coming off the trees today apparently

Cycling home today I could smell the hawthorn pollen - it was 16 degrees this afternoon. Daffodils have been out for a fortnight.

Fuck me you lot get spring early.  There's still significant lying snow here

A few here and there, and some fat bumble bees floating about already.

When the wind was blowing earlier you could see the pollen coming off the trees like a snow storm.

Yes, I had a bumble bee yesterday morning, as I was having a teams meeting. Had to usher it back outside.
