New Year cobwebs were blown out today with a nice run down to Knaresborough, to take the dog for a walk.

A 144-mile round trip, ride out to take the bloody dog for a walk.

took the galaxy for a 4th gear 70 mph thrash down the motorway to see if can clear out the egr, pulling away just flat ... do i pull off the egr valve and see if blocked?

Pictures like this make me question my decision to lock up my Maestro & Puma for winter. Great to see these two getting used. 

If I had a thorough 'underside detox' routine I probably wouldn't be so paranoid about it.

Cleaned out the front of the carvan over xmas. Its a much nicer place to be now as months of muddy groundwork had taken its toll.

My reward. I can now see coolant is leaking into the footwell. Bumhats.

Strangely enough I was there for a few hours yesterday too.  Nice place to stop on the way home from Durham.

I think you walked past me. Were you with 2 ladies one with orange hair and the other pink/purple?

I think you walked down a set of steps to the riverside, where I was standing alongside MrsV8 and a puppy dachshund.

My current fleet at the moment, I have converted the maroon saloon and red estate to turbo diesels with the grey estate still being original with its 1.6 petrol. I have a GT2052 to go onto a engine with head studs and HDI rods eventually which will be even more hilarious in a 305 on 175 tyres. The red estate I got recently and was last on the road in 2012 and has had alot of new bits fitted to make it hopefully reliable.

Nothing interesting to report, but did 200miles today in the new car without coming to a stop.

couldn’t get the x1/9 out of the garage as it was far too windy and wet over the new year. Did a short walk yesterday though with views to port sunlight from malpas.

Aye, the older daughter and the better half.  I remember seeing a chap with a puppy and Emily definitely remembered it being a dashschund.  Sorry I didn't recognise you.

Southern Norway has received large amounts of snow in recent days and with strong winds, there are sometimes even blizzards. So everything has come to a standstill schools etc are closed and possibly the main roads will also be closed soon. And over 4,000 households are now without electricity.

I've had even more snow since yesterday but the strong wind means I can't use the snowblower to remove the snow until the wind calms down. I still have electricity but have a generator if needed. This is absolutely crazy, but if I'm honest, it's a bit fun in a weird way too.

Left home at 0530 GMT to meet my taxi booked a week ago from my friends to the airport at 0630. At 0640, a phone call revealed no one had put it on the list despite the text I received on booking. Fortunately the bad weather in Southern Norway meant my flight was delayed by 40 minutes and I made it fine. Aberdeen had torrential rain and 7c, Stavanger has light winds, some sun and -1c but south of here is like above. Amazing how much difference in such small distances (relatively)

Think this crank no start is an immobiliser fault. The immobiliser light is showing on the dash with ignition on and there's a locked padlock symbol next to it. Never noticed either of those before, bastard of a thing. Have disconnected the battery will leave that overnight and try again tomorrow. Local Suzuki garage my wife phoned again today said - we don't have a tow truck (it just needs a tow, not a tow truck), and suggested that after leaving it for a few days as it has been, the dirt in the fuel pump & filter which are combined in the tank, great idea that is Suzuki, might have fallen out by now? In other words they don't give a shit, gravity might fix it?

Monday I spent an hour fixing my parent’s garden gate as the wind had blown some panels away from the Z support frame.  Put about 10 screws into it, which is an improvement on the nails that were there. Used my great grandads hand drill to make the pilot holes.

That’s what I should probably do to be fair, there’s more spurs than good posts now. I’ll have to put a couple of new panels in at the very least.

i am sure the electric drill would have been easier. But I didn’t fancy that hour or so of looking for the extension cord.

my dad has lots of tools from his grandad.
