I had a brief go in that.  It does go sideways quite easily. :)

I was surprised at how sideways it could end up going (or backwards in the hands of Carl). Overall a great evening.

I still can't believe the AA turned up about three hours too late for Bornite Identity though. When the guy came over I thought we were about to be thrown out for powersliding Marinas and Vauxhalls.

Edit: also cheers for the goes in the Marinas, Ital and MX5

Bugger me that looks a good evening out.  Was it DNJ's 604?

What did Bornite break down in?

Looks like an amazing show by the way - some absolute beauties on the east coast...

I missed all the excitement but apparently his tracking was so far out that it had blew or nearly blew out both it's new front tyres.

Some turn out at that show, how did you cut the cake into 390 slices?

Please explain... this sounds interesting for mine too...

Mazda was quite conservative as the mx5 was designed to run on worse fuel quality than the UK has. Therefore you can change the timing which gives the engine more pep - just need a timing light (on my to buy list)

Wot Trig said.  He came down in the Mini - nearside front tyre was almost down to the canvas after 400 miles, and offside wasn't far behind.

Bloody hell-i was in Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich yesterday afternoon and evening. Had I seen the posts about the show in Shotley, I'd have dropped by. Would still have been 309 cars, as I was on my Moto Guzzi

For the first time since I turned sixteen, I am actually unemployed. Without work. Nada. Zilch. I should probably start looking for work at some point.

In other news, the aforementioned situation meant that this happened this morning, 7.30am test...

There were various things towards the end, but ultimately I needed this Saturday off to watch CMS_JNR as WIFE_CMS had stuff on. It was refused point blank with four weeks notice. As a result, after ten years in the place and four and a half years more or less running it I told them to ram it.

Poor show that, Andy, good luck with finding a new job.  Remain convinced your experience and persona will see you in a new position shortly, all the best.

Trigger: hope you win the PC car club thing, that turn out was amazing.

You’ll be sorted soon enough Andy. How about the railways?

Just paid for extra car storage. :)

First spot available on Monday with the next at the beginning of August. Yes, I've started looking already!

Thinking it will be a Dolly Sprint/GT6 (or Spitfire with GT6 engine)/Sprite (ideally as prefer over Midget). No massive rush as coming to end of season too when the bargains start coming up around end of August/September

Currently awaiting the MOT results of the 172. I dropped it off first thing and they haven't tested it yet which is unusual for a car which is 'new' to them. Normally they test it first thing so any issues can be fixed that day.

In another month or two, you should be able to sell that to all the suckers wanted a 4x4 for omgsnowchaos winter. Probably make quite a bit over what you are asking too.

P38 (BMW diesel automatic) made it to the garage this morning.
It overheated three times in the 20 miles and by the time I got there it had blown a rad hose. I did try running it with the rad cap loose, but it spaffed the coolant extra quick when I did this, so I tightened the cap and blew a hose instead.....
It had a replacement engine, new rad, and water pump shortly before I bought it, so I don't think its not the first time it's done this.

Discussion with mechanic ensued, rad hoses ordered, those will be fitted and then diagnosis can proceed.... Current suspects, dodgy rad or HGF, but it's  a Range Rover, so it could be anything.

I did notice that nothing was connected at the bottom of the rad. I thought the rad on these included an ATF cooler, and there should be pipes from the box to the rad.
Time to hit forums and see what the setup should be for gearbox cooler.

E36 tds was collected, which has the same engine as the P38, but with 130k miles more on it, so they can be reliable, just maybe not in a Range Rover.
It's nice to have the BMW back.

As predicted, Range Rover came out of garage on Tuesday. As the garage is on the same estate as Father's unit, Brother Fumbler burbled his way over there, only to give us the news that the front door has stopped working.

Normal service has been resumed.

I don't suppose you are looking for a set of winter tyres for that, are you ? I have a set of 205/55/16 with plenty of tread available

Just on a month ago I bought a couple of petrol pump globes on Ebay from a nice chap, I had paid via PayPal and due to fragility collected them. Yesterday I had an email from PayPal to say my payment was returned. I have never had this before and did wonder at first if it was a new scam. It wasn't, apparently the payment hadn't been claimed so they sat on it for a month. Luckily I had his phone number and contacted him, he had never checked his PayPal and just assumed the money was there (blamed his Mrs for setting things up wrong). To put things in order I have gone up with cash. Him and his brothers are into their cars (mainly Jaguars), but he showed me the X reg Omega V6 that he had recently bought to replace his Rover 75 that got written off when parked. The Omega is like new and I really mean like new, it has done 55k miles and comes with every receipt from new, including the original purchase receipt and the Tesco receipt for its first tank of fuel on the day it was collected from the dealer.  I just can't get over the condition, all the door shuts, interior and under bonnet are gleaming. He has fitted a new exhaust, think that was the only rattle.

He now doesn't want to use it as an everyday car as it's too good (the Rover was used mainly by his wife and used to pick up car park dents, I can see why he wouldn't want it to happen to this one).

I think it will be up for sale soon, I would love it so will keep in touch with him, no idea what I'd do with it though.

Much you looking for? It's got a set of winter continentals on at the moment but spares are always handy
