Knowing the lady part like I do he's probably attempting a willy waving manoeuvre.

Sounds to me like someone trying to give you a light ribbing because your TV is "small" by today's standards or maybe they are trying to drop in the conversation that they have just bought a super-duper 70" TV or something...

Nissan Almera diesel going in for it's MOT.

How will it fare against the new derv regs? Fingers crossed once again!

Aye, delete the EGR and catalytic converter, turn up the boost, no bother.

Saw a Golf Diesel today that the yoofs had obviously pissed about with so it chucked out loads of clag. How does stuff like that scrape the test?

Had a purchase of a nice diesel 25 in Coventry lined up, but the chap is away from early Saturday morning for two weeks so think it's kind of fallen through. Was originally meant to collect on Saturday there but something came up suddenly.

Trawling the ads is brutal. Scour through 1000 ads and about three get bookmarked.

Agreed. Not much I truly like about at the moment.

Search for beko's saga to get a tweaked dezialturbot through it's test. The short version is turn it back down to standard till you get home from the test.

Huzzah, picked up a completely non-matching rear seat bench and some headrests for the V6 today. Nice price too. So now we have velour bench, leather back rests, velour headrests. Niiiice....Just need Rimmers to drop the price further still (£60 + VAT now) on the one sandstone beige leather bench seat cover they have left for a 45 V6.

Blokey was telling me about his Rover/MG history - he had a ZS 180 with the KV6 engine in it. Said he'd struggled to start it, figured he'd change the belts. He didn't finish it and out of desperation sold it for parts.

Told him 'a mate' (Reginald D Nutsack) had just about managed it on a 45 V6 and he was a temporarily broken but ultimately elated man. Bloke was in awe.

Admired my Streetwise too as well, always nice to have a compliment about your car.

I still think my telly is MASSIVE (50")... mainly because it is! 28" used to be just fine, then it went to 32, then seemed to grow weekly until now you live in the box the TV came in as it's bigger than your gaff!

Wonder if a call to them about the seat cover would be worth while. I can't see there being a rush on them, might do you a deal?

Sorry, but my penis is slightly bigger - 55 inch TV screen here. And curved as well (the TV not the penis).

Do I need it ? Not really.

Does it take up the whole living room ? Yes

Do I need my glasses on to watch it ? Nope

Yeah, may do that if the price doesn't shift. They do seem to have endless clearance sales on though (got some jazzy Streetwise mats for silly money last year). Bear in mind there's only 100 or so V6 Connies left, and not all of them will be sandstone beige, so chances of someone blagging it are slim to zero.

Nice one.  8)  I was so cynical that the government were determined to put a nail in the coffin of older diesels and by doing so with the new MOT criteria.  :?

Anyhow, the Almera of Doom passed (at 98,495 miles) with the following defects:

  • Repair as soon as possible: Windscreen damaged but not adversely affecting driver's view Nearside Front Lower (stone chip) It hasn't really increased in size since it happened
  • Monitor & repair if necessary: Oil leak but not excessive; Brake pads wearing thin (n/s & o/s inners); Service brake fluctuating, but not excessively (o/s front)general rusting to front and rear hub and suspension components and underside*

*sounds like that one might be pricey if it gets worse

Back from a 500-mile outing in the Impreza, during which time Mrs Wobbler's hatred of it grew and grew. I was finally banned from accelerating hard. She really doesn't like it. Turns out a chunk of land near our house is on fire. Exciting!

This is why it normally rains continuously in Wales. If it doesn't, the entire country spontaneously combusts.

I have my Land Rover back, this time it has got home but not being used for nearly two months means that most of the lights have stopped working. I have just been round it cleaning and changing bulbs and fuses and now only the reverse light is still not working. It is booked in for mot on Monday and once that is done (one tyre is a bit scrubbed so will be replaced) I will probably get it up for sale. I'm still not sure which one I prefer.

What are the things to look out for on a Corsa B? I came across this very forlorn one hidden away in a scrap yard today but I couldn't see a spot of rust anywhere. Part of me wants to save it. 75k miles and the MOT history doesn't really contain anything scary.

Humm, those C8's look to tow a decent size trailer.

Great Marina BTW!

Yep, that was great fun! I ticked several shifty fucker boxes too:

Pump turned right down

Re-test at a totally different centre

Turned back up after

All for good reasons though! The pump was heavily modified so Mr Aurthee Foxhake fitted a less modified lda pin and turned it right down. I'd run out of holiday, 4 days before Christmas and 2 days before the test ran out, so went to a place near work one lunchtime. Then turned back up as it had been de tuned so much the other mods couldn't cope.

Was great fun, and I learnt alot. I imagine with modern stuff, as has been said, Mr Chav has an mot safe map saved on his PC and flashes it prior, or has a dodgy mate.

The intermittant flashing ABS/BAS lights on the dash are really pissing me off - I HATE fault lights! So I took the ABS pump electronics to bits and cleaned the shit out of all the connections, my thinking behind this being that it was fine (after first cleaning) until water dripped off the wet bonnet straight onto the pump when I opened the bonnet to check levels. I thought at the time it was a 'quality' bit of design there...

There are without the slightest exaggeration, 6 BILLION connections/connectors based on the pump and I can't see half of them, but I now know that at least one of them is dodgy as, after another thorough clean with spray switch cleaner, it is back to working properly!

Any idea from you electronicly 'clever chaps/chapesses' on how to clean and then protect all this once and for all?

Its arrived!

So far so good! Brakes are stuck on but it runs like a dream!

Oh my, that is beautiful.

Brought a bit of a wistful tear to my eye, I don't mind saying.

Jealous.

The plates will definitely be going, I hate them! Probably get a set of raised digit ones from Tippers.
