Have to say I quite like that Smart.   Would look for F350 Duallies to park it next to.

Haven't time to do a full update so here's a quick note: Bought a 33mm socket for the steering wheel nut, removed the stalks and now the Princess has stopped making burning electric smells when running. I guess you guys were right and it is something amiss with the indicator stalk. Still doesn't make sense to me buy heyho, electrics never do.

When the boat paint blue Allegro decided to go all Lucasy in Austria it was because the switch had scratched a groove in the plastic inside and that was allowing the current to flow in weird directions.

I think the main beam flash is always live so if that was the source it could explain it.

Sold my Saab 9-5 auto Aero HOT for a decent sum so I now have monies to go looking for something else auto so I don't pile too many miles on the Scruffy Saab.

when you refit the steering wheel place one of these in the centre post-17711-0-10578700-1505862213_thumb.jpg and never need to use the stalk ever again, ever!

After being unable to find the locking wheelnut key for the C4 yesterday, it appears the one for the Toyota has also gone walkabout.  Bollocks.  The local tyre place didn't have the facility to remove the nuts on either car - they use a chap who does callouts and charges £60, so I sacked that right off.  Also the Rover of Doom is supposed to be going in for its test tomorrow but has a chuffing great hole in the silencer - I've wobbed it up with Gun Gum but doubt it'll last long.  The silencer on the VI looks like it'll fit but it's going to be a faff changing them over.  On a more positive note, I found a Panasonic CD player in the boot of the Volvo, where it's no doubt been languishing for years - plugged it into the Citroën van and to my surprise it switched on and made noise through the speakers - I just need to find an aerial adapter and I should have choonz in the van, although I'm not sure the speakers will be man enough to drown out the racket from the wheel bearing.

I have to say that locking nuts are a PIA and I will never fit them on any car. It cost £20 to get the last one removed from my new C4 VTS.

Locking wheelnuts?

What's the saying again, screwdriver a bigger spanner under it?

Loosen or remove if you are brave all the others and drive in circles in a large empty car park the locking one will soon come loose.

I actually did this and got one of the things off, but the last one was on tighter than I was brave!

Do you still have the Vi? I have been half thinking about a 200 BRM as next track car thingy. Vi is pretty similar isnt it?

My day has been spent getting covered in waxoyl (the cheaper tetroseal equivalent) using a garden sprayer.

I basically dipped a ford ka in the stuff last week and gave the Z3 a quick spray with the stuff and I've just done the same with my E36 compact today.post-9282-0-61785700-1505919779_thumb.jpgpost-9282-0-97030500-1505919800_thumb.jpg

Only two cars to go as I've got an old can of the stuff sitting in the back of the garage which I will use on my fathers E36 and if there's any over then the A class will get a quick spray as well.

You've got to keep those jacking points and rear arches rust free on a E36 somehow but if I put anymore on the car I think it will float or snap in half with the weight of it all.

Unfortunately I can't spare enough time to drive all the way over to scaryoldcortina and back to get my suspension pipe repaired affordably so I've dropped it off with a local company to see if they can do it.  Same place as did the Princess fuel tank.  I also now know that without the rear seats you can fit two people and a complete Princess suspension pipe inside a Rover 414.

Good news: none of the Proton's wheels fell off.

Bad news: one of the (surprisingly few) failures was for wheel nuts fitted backwards.

Embarrassment level: CRITICAL

The auto gearbox is a bit clunky in this old bus.

But seeing as it's done 368k I sort of let it off.

But today it went in to have the gearbox oil flushed and changed, many specialists said it would probably kill the box. But many also said give it a go.

So I gave it a go.

And it's 114% better.

Obviously it's still not as brand new, but for the mileage it's bloody good.

Was £312 mind. But £312 well spent.

£312? Fook me. Where was the fluid from? The bastard fountain of youth?

Why is oil so dear? A DIY oil change on my audi will cost £40. They say its called progress.I say it's called bollocks.

Been doing some '1 Haynes spanner' fettling on the Fusion, which looks like it's staying another winter. Still need two front tyres after my current ones were 'condemned' 1,000 miles ago.

Enjoying my last weekdays off before Xmas at the mo.

Anyway, new filters and a good clean out of the air box, cos who wants a dirty box fnar fnar?

Coil is original, and NGK one was cheap, so time to swap that too I thought.

10 Torx just to change a filter!

Did that include resetting/remapping the gearbox edu?

I'm hoping that Cherry mostly skidded rather than crumpled. Not nice to see, but at least everyone seems to be ok.

Seems in the last couple of years the lorries-scooping-cars incident has become much more commonplace.  Not sure if it's actually more common or if it's just that we're documenting so much more with in-car cameras these days.  Perhaps it's a bit of both.

Saw a bundle of cameras on facebook on our local selling site for £20. All advertised without chargers... One is a Canon Powershot Sx230 which seems to be a very good camera.

Message the guy, and he's in fugging didcot, 20 miles each way, and the Canon doesn't have a battery (proprietary job, not aa cells). Lost interest then, the batteries are only a fiver on ebay, but was hoping to check it worked first before buying stuff. The other 3 weren't great either so I became a time wasting wanker and said sorry but no thanks.

What do they expect parking across the road like that? Can't do that in a Sunny without a taxi sign on the roof.
