Smaller than the old Renault Twingo:

Shorter even than a Rover 100/Metro too.

Should fit in the boot of the goona as a lifeboat.

I've got a twin exit upswept backbox to go on it, just haven't had time to fit it.

I am very jealous of Vulg's driveway.

That is a driveway full of WIN.

Nice looking house, too.

So, anybody want to hazard a guess why I've ended up having to miss a work meeting today because of this?

Obviously this is all the fault of the car, and not the twonk who dropped it.

That sucks.   In about 1999 I found one of these under the bonnet of my new Cavalier Diesel.

Still have it and it has helped me out of many similarly crap situations, recommended.

Mrs Hooli's van came back from a service with a rattle. 13mm snap-off spanner on the scuttle, it got returned for the next service.

There is a large curry house in Darwen, if you like curry don't go there.

Seeing as Old Man barely drives and we don't like the A4/the Rover better suits our occasional needs as a family, the mother has taken him off her AA Relay membership and put me on it instead. That's nice - apparently I get cover as a passenger too - GR9 for collections.

Part of me is more bothered about the fact I might get an AA sticker.

Driving the Crying Pumpkin is still a barrel of laughs - the starting issue seems to have subsided for now but I will need to get back to it at some point.

Set the alarm off twice today due to my stupidity - but not sure of the correct process to reset as it seems to want to keep on going off again after "clearing" the initial alarm.

Done 600+ miles in it since purchase and well chuffed.  I fancy the pedestrian acceleration cheers up a bit after about an hour's running too - but I must've been imagining that.  No desire to tweak it for now as it doesn't (unlike the Disco 3) leave clouds of smoke behind when you boot it.

That Mk1 Transit belongs or did belong around the corner from me.

it's in Linlithgow - I've seen it parked in the same spot twice now, didn't have my phone with me the first time.

Who's got experience with the 'new' Fiat Panda ?

I've been offered a 55 plate 1.1, MOT expires end of this month, it needs a drivers door window and a battery. It's in that burnt orange colour.

I'm going back to look again as I want to give the sills a prod as they looked a bit suspect, but it's a running car and he wants £100 for it.

Seems cheap enough to me as long as no major issues, she's done next to no miles since the last MOT so as long as no significant seized brakes etc this could be back on the road for £200 I think.

Cort16 and Hairnet, possibly don't ask Kiltox...

They're good. Check the spare wheel well and underneath behind the back wheels for grit the factory under coat peels off and they rust. I've just redone mine. If you can get it cheap there's always someone looking for a small car. They're tight for space so not the most pleasant to work on.

Message Kiltox, if he hasn't cubed his already.

Well, blow me down with a feather

Bearing pullers seem to be an expensive piece of kit, and yet you can't hire them from HSS and and both Halfrauds and Machine Mart don't hold them in stock. Anyone got a suggestion for getting hold of a set with a slide hammer for less than a ton? I'm drawing a blank with fleabay and gumtree...

You should be able to have more than two names on an AA joint membership (if that's what your mum has) at no extra cost.

We have cards for both our kids even though they're only 4 and 8.  My mum has one of the cards in her purse so if she's out with the kids she's effectively covered as well.

When I was your age, and at university, I was on my Dad's membership.  Just had to remember to give his address when I rang up!

Try typing 'slide hammer' into ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/S-5-pcs-Blind-Inner-Bearing-Puller-Set-Slide-Hammer-Internal-Kit-/332112128383?hash=item4d536ce97f:g:7VgAAOSw-0xYlBIL £26.99

I've got one, the sizes are a bit out (the things are oversize) but it did the job I needed it for & there are a lot of others when I search ebay.

I think FPB7 has some.

Old Man is giving up driving soon, and I think they wanted more money for the 3 of us.

I decided to fit a new stereo in the Fiesta today, what a faff that was! I picked up a pretty good Sony CD USB unit for £10 last year and during the week i got a fascia for £9 so along with a youtube video i went to work.

As you can see it's a double din but in 3 parts, the Ford radio sounds rubbish and the CDs skip when you drive over a bump so it had to go, you have to strip half the dash out as well as the heater controls and then cut the two plastic strips between the radio out to fit the fascia.

The previous radios owner bridged some wires over badly (i'm guessing to stop it losing it memory rather than swapping the red and yellow wires like most people) which shorted out on the radio cage and blew a fuse, i didn't realise there's two fuses so it took me nearly a hour trying to work out what I'd fucked up... Still once i managed to find the missing 15amp fuse and wrestled the heater mechanism back onto the switch again it all looked much better. The sound quality is a massive improvement now, the annoying beep when you turn the key off isn't so good though...

My panda is the diseasel flavour. I've had it 8 years and it's given no problems whatsoever. Expect the usual front drop links and two sets of tyres to the front to one set of rears. Apart from that (servicing excepted) absolutely sod all has gone wrong. No rust either on mine as yet. They're good and, what I've had to do, I've never had a major issue with working on it either.

That said they're built in the same Polish factory as the siecento so expect some cars to be great and others to be "bad" cars. I had a siecento and it was a bad 'un and no end of fun* Rotted like a good 'un too.

Having had my fail it's MOT the other week and left at Supernaut's parents farm since , I'll be going to have a look at it in a few hours to decide what to do with the old girl.
