Yeah would love one of them.

Got in the Disco to go see a job that's off the beaten track.

Gets it sets off and...

Thankee kindly, sirs.

Phoar that's a beauty. Is it a 2.4 diesel ?

2.2 petrol.  Skizzers don't do diesels.

(In reality I did think about the 2.4 diesel as it sounds like a rather entertaining proposition, but there does seem to be more that goes wrong with them than the GM petrol four-banger.)

I was originally thinking of getting a 159 Sportwagon, which I find equally pretty and cheaper, but 2.2 petrol ones are awfully scarce.

The engine turned on, what more do you want?

Still struggling to get my Rover 75 moved from Brighton to Watford for reasonable money.  Any ideas, or anyone fancy earning £100 doing it for me?

I can post more pictures at the weekend if there's any interest - I'm picking it up on Thursday night then driving it home down the M4 on Friday.

Cleaning those alloys is going to be a right laugh, eh?

I used to have a 1982 Alfa Sprint Veloce with something like 40 spoke wheels which I don't think i cleaned properly in the 2 years I had it, it was a job far more suited to a dentist than to me!

Noticed last night i got a leak... then woke up to lots of pas fluid on the floor, luckly my mate had given me a 2nd hand replacement , bastard 8mms hidden in narrow gap, and they look like never been undone so as i needed it for work and was enough give in the pipes so just cabled the replacement.

You've been putting the hours in with the Mondy lately. My PAS pipes are rusty (the ones that run along the side of the subframe) and need sorting this year before this happens to me.

Have a look in the Ami Super thread. The OP had some suggestions.

Brilliant. I've messaged the polish fella who did the deed. Fingers crossed.

I'd love to help, sounds like an ace way to spend a day, but it would probably cost most of the £100 to get to Brighton and put fuel in to get to Watford, and B I'm poorly, and would infect your car with a few hours of driving!

Lord sterling due any jobs that way in the next week or so?

Bloody hell that's nearly £400 if they all pass!

In the Sunday Telegraph magazine, yesterday there was an article that pissed my wife off somewhat.  Written by a woman who had a NO SPEND year, and detailed that she'd spent £400 on take away coffee alone in the previous year.

I'd say Â£400 was a bargain.

(She reckoned she had saved £22K in a year by not buying anything that wasn't either Mortgage, Utilities, Food or Mobile Phone Rental)

OMG MODERN CONTENT WARNING

If you're interested, there are some MG GS thinkings here. http://wp.me/p1jtbd-SJ

I wouldn't say it's peaceful inside it, but I jumped into the ZX, started the engine and my ears exploded.

Interesting stuff - something broken in the air con system on a 16 plate car!?!

Doesn't sound as bad as some say it looks though

I can't tell if it's broken or just setting off some weird resonance. I opened the bonnet and waved my ears around the engine and couldn't hear it at all, and it's not like the engine is loud.

Randomly, I have just bought a Microfiche reader in an auction.

Must be a subconscious desire to open a tat motorfactors, or fill my house with stuff I'll never use.

Have you got a mk1 ford focus and need a 6 CD disc changer? Not going to get one cheaper than this. £15+ VAT

http://www.fordpartsuk.com/shop/ford_focus_6_disc_cd_changer_kit_from_1998_to_2005_f_1085844.htm

Popped an order in for one of these (it'll work, Ford stuff is always interchangeable) as soon as I saw this, and it has just sat on the desk reminding me that I never get around to things.

Until today. Installed and working in one hectic lunch break.

Connect Van becomes Juke Box for £20!  Cheers Egg!

A fine and competent gentlemans conveyance, with a Rover P6 parked in front of it;)

Went mooching round garages yester day for something to do. Tried a few jap imports but decided mine was nicer. Went and had a look at a landcruiser. 53 plate manual. Rust in the rear wheel arches especially by the cills. Very nice inside but good god the clutch pedal was stiff , even with engine running. No way could I press that all day. May look at an auto in time.

Saw ENT doctor today. I am having sinus surgery in the next 4-6 weeks. I also have deviated septum which may require septoplasty. They will remove tissue and bone from my sinuses.

Doctor said it may not help my asthma - however prodigous quantities of filthy mucus going down my bronchial passages will not be helping either.

Just back from the garage with a fresh mot for the Mercedes with no advisories. West London traffic this morning going in to isleworth was terrible though. I don't know how people stand it every day. Main hazard returning at 4pm was school kids wandering across the road with their eyes glued to their phone.

Apart from the full service items (7.5 litres of semi-synthetic and six iridium spark plugs!) it had a n/s steering tie rod for £24. He set it up by eye and says it may need tracking, but it seemed ok on the outside lane of the m3.

Only did 7300 miles since last mot. That's almost affordable at 26mpg! And solely down to me doing 3500 miles on the bicycle in the same time.

In the garage at the same time was a metallic green/ blue Renault four. It looked perfect and had a beige leather interior, but neither of the mechanics thought it any good- it's a dealer car and for sale for a lot now they've serviced it. It's on French plates at the moment from poiteau charentes.

I've had that op 10 yrs ago, got fed up of rank smelling sinuses. I can't say it's a pleasant experience but the long term befits I have are well worth it. I'd describe the sinus packs being removed the next day as a........ unique sensation   :-D
