Two of my shitbox VW's at a show today.

Boxengrasse south Bicester today for coffee and chrome, event at Autofarm Porsche Specialist. Registration only to get in but we rocked up on the bikes and they let us in! 
Mines the Kawasaki 650 on the left, mate has the GSX1400 on the right, took the quick way down the M40 on the way home and he came steaming past me at 120!

I've ordered a DTI gauge - I had an Amazon voucher burning a hole in my virtual pocket anyway and like you say they're a useful bit of kit to have around - but I'm not sure how much use it's going to be on the Merc - because of the way the discs are drilled, the only way for the needle to complete a lap of the disc without dropping into the drill holes is for it to sit right on the outer edge, which isn't normally the recommended way to do it.  I had the front wheels off earlier though and I have a feeling it's the nearside disc - it's spinning freely at certain points and binding up slightly at others, while the offside is consistent all the way round.

Ongoing micra pre mot failure tommorow of future sister in-laws micra.. 

I looked underneath to see the exhaust has a small blow..lol ..and while sorting out the side light I got the bulb a bit brighter adding extra earth but not mot passable, she had another bulb and same, so we swapped bulb from other side and problem moved over... hmm ok let's look at the bulbs... her boyfriend had brought 24v dual filament bulbs, so some of her light problems were where he'd try to fix it, and I said I'm not touching it where he's been messing... until now... also high brake light bulb was blown, windscreen washers didn't meet the screen, headlamps cloudy, so I cleaned them a bit...so less to write on the mot failure sheet tomorrow.. ha ha ha

Doing artist transport at Glastonbury with The Rainbow Girls from California.

Took the XM to Super Touring Power this weekend. Great to get out in it for first time since February 

Some really nice cars both in the pre 2000s car park and part of the official display and race, although not quite as many as last year.  Sadly there was an bad accident in the first of the 4 super touring races which did extensive damage to an ex works 97 ITCC BMW driven by Steve Soper and a 99 BTCC Primera and led to the two other Primeras being withdrawn. A number of other cars broke down too leaving the field very sparse

John Cleland and Steve Soper were both there, John wasn't racing though. They both get on well now and were interviewed on stage together. I think John realises that whilst he lost that championship the interest it gained in the BTCC was a big part of the growth of both the series and his career & bank balance over the next few years

My Volvo DEC is now with Volvo Diagnostic down in Romford, hopefully to be fixed and cure my pesky dashboard warning light. Cambelt and aux belt done, exhaust welded up to get rid of the slight blow from the sleeve. All being well, by the end of this week I will have a fixed and ready for MOT XC70...

Drove the rig from Worcester down to Weymouth this afternoon and the number of drivers who don't seem to know how to use a slip road coming onto a motorway. One bloke in a Merc drove alongside me on the slip road till it ran out and he had to brake to get behind me. I couldn't move into the middle lane because no room and I'll be honest I wasn't going to brake for him as there was shit loads of room in front of me. All he had to do was put his foot down a bit. Then he came round in lane 2 and started shaking his fist at me. Ffs, wanker signal for you, ya tosser. People don't seem to realise the concept of a slip road is to SLIP INTO THE FUCKIN TRAFFIC. There was a couple of others who slipped in alright. 5ft from my front bumper and about the same distance to the car that had joined in front of them who was about the same distance from the arse end of a truck.

Well it's a good job I didn't buy that single brake disc because it would indeed have been useless - turns out my car has the sport package and as such the front discs are 345mm rather than 330.

Oddly the larger discs are significantly cheaper on Autodoc than the smaller ones, so I'm going to order a pair in.
